Hi. I'm a 48 year old mother of 2. I recently went to the neurologist because my one pointer finger was tingling. I had previously been diagnosed with bulging disks in my neck, but I never had the tingling.
She did and emg and it came out fine, but my cervical spine mri showed that the disks were now herniated. A few days later I began to feel tingling in my toes and around my feet. I went back for another emg of the legs and feet. That came out fine, too. Now I sometimes feel like something is crawling on my scalp and buttocks. I have become obsessed with these medical web sites and have become a nervous wreck about these symptoms. I don't know if i'm causing these problems with the anxiety or if something is going on. Please reply. Worried sick.

i also have similar things going on. It started with a tingling in my tongue. 8 months later I began having tingling similar to being snapped with tiny rubber bands on the back side of my skin, constantly moving from one area of my body to another. I does not itch. Sometimes it feels like something is crawling.
I am 47 years old, had disk repair surgery 4 years ago but never regained 100% of the feeling in the big toe area of my left foot.
2 weeks ago I had an mri of my brain, a thyroid blood test, and a b12 blood test and all were normal. Ms and a brain tumor were ruled out.
I read an article that artifical sweeteners, especially if you consume alot of diet soda, which I did, can cause these symptoms. I have stopped these sweeteners in hopes of seeing a change.
Will update with any progress.
If anyone else has this problem, now or in the past, please share your experience.

Wierd Sensations, Too
I, too, am experiencing a "rubber band" tingling on my side. This seems to be the latest area. It started in my tongue. I'll have a reverb tingling in toes. It does seem as something is crawling and like you all - the neurologist can't find anything wrong. Maybe it's a case of a pinched or damaged nerve. The crawling feels so wierd - I don't drink a lot of artificial sweetners but I have started taking vitamin b 3 times weekly because vitamin b is supposed to be good for the neurological system. II have had metal testing and other testing that has not revealed anything. BTW, I'm 38. At first, I would panic but I've learned how to get through it.

Funny I should run across this post....as I sit here it feels like ants are crawling on me. I told a PCP a few years ago and she told me to take Vit. B wtiht no real relief. Next week I see a neuro for a tremor and, since this has been so active today, had been debating whether to tell him or not. Now I will. Do I understand that you don't have a neurological condition? If you don't mind, do you have any other medical conditions?

Any info is appreciated!

l am not sure where to post this, but l have similar reactions
My problems started with a fall two years ago and it went straight down my left leg like a searing hot stick and my legs were tingling for the rest of the evening. l went from Dr. to Dr. with different diagnosis, and even to the point, they thought l was just looking for drugs when l was begging them to help me. l even stopped urinating for 2 days which is an emergency.
They would do x rays and saw herniated discs, a ruptuered disc and also deteriorating disc and said that l should not be feeling the pain that l was saying l had. l finally got to one Dr. who was a Neurologist, who did a few tests on me and did an MRI and saw a white lesion in the front of my brain ( forehead area) and he requested further testing to see what it was and he came to me and told me that the pain had not been in my head after all, but the veins where the white lesion was is what stopped me from urinating. They kept me in the hospital to see if l could urinate or not and l had to be catherized many times and saw many neurologists who were deciding on what to do, so they finally said that they would send the results back to my dr. and she was the one who would decide what to do.
l went for a dye catherization on my head only and ever since that dye injection , l have had nothing but pain on the opposite side of where the dye was injected.
This past week, l noticed that when l wake up , l get this truly severe headache, and l dread getting out of bed. lt is at the base of my head where the pain has been for awhile now, but the headaches are what worries me. The Dr. thinks it is just Migraines , but these are so painful l almost feel like l m going to get sick getting my head up. Once my head is up, l am fine after moving around, but just lifting up is the problem.
The dye was done almost a month ago, so it is long past being an allergic reaction.
This morning , l saw 4 marks all symetrical, straight down the side of my face as though l have been scratched and on my shoulder going towards my back.
Now has anyone ever had this happen to them?
