Q: Hysterectomy Or Not

I have a decision to make and I don't know what to do. I have painful periods every month and had a laparoscope to find out was wrong. The dr removed a cyst the size of a golf ball from my left ovary. She also did a dnc. I started my cycle on june 14th, 2 weeks after the surgury. Had pain and lots of it. Now she says that I can go on birthcontrol to help withe bleeding that is also very bad when my cycle hits. But blood clots run in my family so birth control is not happening. Said something about makeing a decision to either have my ovaries removed or a hysterectomy. The doctor said there is no other 'guantee' of the pain stopping other than that. I am so confused. I have a 4 year old, not planning on having anymore, but I do not know what to do

Re: Hysterectomy Or Not
If you decide to have a hysterectomy keep your overies!
I don't know your age but I had mine removed at 41 and have had to deal with vaginal dryness, pms symptoms, and menopause symptoms. 8 year of hell! Unless you have problems with the overies, keep them!
