Q: Acne Scarring

Does anyone suffer from acne scars? I had severe acne throughout my teenage years and still deal with it (i'm now 21). I dont have it as severe as I used to, but I am left with pitted scars on parts of my face.

I hate the way I look and feel very insecure about the scarring.
I was considering visiting my dermantologist to seek out options (surgeries,etc) to see what can be done about getting them removed or less visible.

Has anyone out there had any type of acne scar procedure and luck with it?

Is it expensive?

There are many scar treatments such as creams and stuff- vitamin e cream is said to work as well as brands like scarzone and mederma.

Cocoa butter works for some people but not for all skin colors- it only seems to be for people with a darker skin color.

What Has Help For Me

I has used Dr. Brandt products pretty religiously for the past year and I have seen some great results. I'm 23 and I have very bad adolescent acne scars from old break-outs and from current break outs and the Dr.Brand's poreless line of skin care along with the lightening gel has given my skin life again. Go to ebay and order yoko cream, it's very small but worth it, I saw a difference in less than a week. Good luck

Glycolic acid peels work great. Glycolic acid peel 50%. Its like a toner, you put some on a cotton ball and rub it on your skin. Leave on for one minute ( no later then that) it will burn your face if you do. Then take baking soda and put it on your skin so it neutralizes it. Do this once a week for 2 months they will all be gone. Good luck.

By the way there is supposedly a new glycolic acid gel. And it is supposedly alot better then the peel (the toner)

Well I think it your lucky day I think that I can help you. I too get acne scares but I use skin lighting products like "skin success"and before bed I put some on with a q-tip and with in 2-3 weeks you'll see some what a difference.

There are many non-surgical methods that claim to get rid of acne scars but the results are mostly of insignificant improvement. The only way to smooth irregular skin surfaces is to remove the outer surface of the involved area thoroughly and wait for new skin. Usually the end result is 60-90% improvement

it depends where are you living. If you plan some holiday in thailand, I can recommend you some places. As I said in my former post, the scars need to be removed and you need to wait for new skin, the remains of 10% - 40% visible can be covered easy with make up, so that there are no scars visible. The price depends on the clinic and/or doctors, but its usually 1/4 of the prices in the states or europe.

:lol: to my surprise i'm not the one to buy that balm 911. Maybe it's something new, but it works I can't say anything bad. Maybe I bought something up to date!

hi,

i joined the forum today, have you tried photodynamic therapy. Check with your doctor and you can also research on inter-net yourself, there are thousands of webs on inter-net about it. Just read them and consult with your doctor if this is the right treatment for you or not!
