Pies Lumps
Hi again pie...I'm sorry that you are still feeling so bad and stressed. You have had 2 doctors tell you that they can't find anything serious wrong. One said your tonsils were a bit swollen. They may still be swollen and could account for the feeling of a lump but they are situated up high and I think you are talking about lower down. I have 2 experiences to tell you about treating tonsillitis, but i'll put them on a seperate post.. (this is my 4th attempt to post this and I thought the length, and my slower typing may have contributed to the deletion of the previous quite long posts).

It seems to me that you have the symptoms of reflux.( breathing problems, burping etc.) reflux stems from a digestion problem, which causes over acidity. Dietary changes are the best ways to treat it. There are also natural herbs etc that can help. (i'll put these on the other post)
you can't hurt these conditions with exercise. If you put your head and/or neck in certain positions and it causes pain then be careful how you angle them.

My lump was a swollen vein in the throat which is caused by a faulty or overtaxed liver. My liver, which has a hereditary proneness to faulty function, was overtaxed because I had slipped back into slack eating habits. While I take care of myself by eating 75% of my food in a raw state, and the rest cooked and/or processed, my throat is fine. The vein shrinks back to normal. Years ago a man aged 28 came into hospital haemorrhaging from the mouth and bottom. The blood poured out faster than the doctors could put it in. They couldnt operate or scan the region to find out where he was bleeding from. Sadly he died. The postmortem showed that he had cirrhosis of the liver and that this had caused a vein or veins to burst in the throat. I read a doctors book which say the same. He says the liver is behind a lot of illness and conditions, even varicose veins and hayfever, and a host of other things. Made me sit up and take notice! I'll be back

Rest of It
Me again. Please don't become fearful that you may have cirrhosis of the liver and are about to die of haemorrhage because of the example I gave in previous post. But * f e a r * is the worst kind of stress there is when it is about the condition that you may or may not be in. It is a waste of your energys as well.

Regarding tonsils.. *.A 4 yr old boy suffered from extreme tonsilitis for most of his short life. His doctor kept giving antibiotics over and over again with the comment that it would do no harm. It was not doing any good either as he kept getting ill and having to spent many days in bed each time. This happened at least every 5 months. His mother was then introduced to 'nature cure' and got rid of all foods in the cupboards and frig that were considered greatly lacking in nutrients. They all went on a 75% raw food and 25% cooked and/or processed foods. Within a few weeks his tonsils were pink and healthy looking and the correct size. Before they were very swollen, red and purple, and covered with white pustules. Yuk! (smelt too) the doc said they were the worst he had ever seen in his career. He has never had it back. (now 41 yrs old)

* 4 yrs ago his sister (then34) had 3 extremely bad attacks of the same, having to stay in bed very ill each time. She dosed on antibiotics so that she could carry on with life sooner. She asked for advice on the 3rd attack when nothing was making any difference to her condition, so I reminded her that this would not clear up until she allowed it to clear naturally. She already knew that but was taking the easy quick way she thought. Rather than wait I picked up some 'burdock' (herb) for her to help speed things up. On the 1st day she got out of bed and stayed up for quite a while. The 2nd day she was doing things around the house saying she felt a lot better. A few days later and it was as though she had never been sick. She also has not had it back.

'burdock' acts on the liver to help get the toxin levels down. I have never seen anyone get better that quick from tonsilitis. I don't know what sort of products you have in your country pie. This is certainly a good one to have in the cupboard, and since you don't like taking medicines it is better to go natural. There are no side effects. If they don't have the burdock ask for a blood purifier.

Your stress levels are the most important thing too as the *f e a r* will make everything worse. In fact stress is a major cause of disease worldwide. "nutricalm" is a good product for this. Or a good vit b complex as this is the deficiency linked to not being able to handle stress calmly. Nutricalm contains the b vits as well as other things. 'licorice root" (in capsules) is for the inner wound up stress. It's cheaper to change the diet of course but some people find that hard to do. Even if people started introducing a bit more of the raw fruit and veg than they are eating now and then increased it a little each week, then that is better than nothing.

Your digestion should be greatly helped by a drastic chenge in eating habits but if you can't seem to do that, for whatever reason, get a good brand of digestive enzymes and take with every cooked meal you have.

When you have antibiotics it kills all of your good bacteria as well as bad. It needs to be replaced by taking 'probiotics, acidophyllus or bifidophyllus. These contain millions of bacteria and should restore the healthy bacteria that is vital to good health. (until your next lot of antibiotics of course, then you have to do it all over again).

Is there a good 'natural practitioner' that you can go to ??? I hope you can take action soon pie and we will all be looking forward to some positive results i'm sure. My regards.

I need advice. Above I posted that I have an appointment for en egd of my throat one week from tomorrow but my symptoms have now almost completely gone away! So am I experiencing globus histericus or whatever it is called? After seeing my fam doc he did prescribe me ativan for my anxiety and he recommended prilosec otc and I have been taking both. If this was the dreaded "c" word would my symptoms just disappear like this? Do you think I should cancel my appointment or go anyway?

Reflux Site
This looks like a good site for reflux followers.

refluxamineâ„¢ key ingredients are safe and have been successfully used by ancient cultures all around the world for thousands of years. Now molecularly formulated- refluxamineâ„¢ will end your stomach distress and heartburn for good,
i guarantee it.

Acid reflux is also known by names such as dyspepsia, chronic heartburn, acid indigestion and gerd. Others symptoms include but are not limited to bad breath, indigestion, stress, weight gain and that hard to swallow feeling in your chest...

As the pressure in your stomach exceeds its normal capacity, because of too much food, or even from tight clothing around the waist area, stomach acids can be easily pushed up into your throat area.

If you eat too much your stomach will then over-produce enormous amounts of very powerful acids that end up bubbling and then flowing into your throat and reeking havoc on your sensitive tissues.

Eventually acid reflux damages and weakens your lower esophageal sphincter (les), a crucial flap-like valve that separates the stomach from the throat, or esophagus. Undigested food can play...

Hello sweetp4u...It seems to me that the doc has treated you for an over acid stomach. Ativan works on the stress in general but it also relaxes tight or tense muscles, in this case in your throat. The prilosec is for an overacid stomach, which contributes greatly to reflux, and throat symptoms are many times a symtom of reflux. It looks as though you are now ok, but if you are at all worried about your condition you need to go for the exam for your own peace of mind. (the drugs you are on cannot 'cure' cancer)

Ps...Just reread one of your earlier posts where you describe the feeling that the food sits at the bottom, near the entrance to the stomach. In overacid conditions of the stomach, over a period of time there can be some damage to the flap which is supposed to stay shut to prevent food and other things coming back up. If this is refux in your case it is ...Easily fixed...

Hi Yonx
Hi yonx,

thanks for the info..Many thanks...
Here's the development of my "lump feeling"

i went to see another ent doctor to check my throat, ears
- he said that there's nothing wrong in my throat, ears
- my tonsils were already healed
- he checked my throat for minutes he couldnt find anything wrong

i told him that because of this lump feeling, I often have palpitations, he then checked my pulse and was suprpise because my heart beat was at 117 per minute. He asked me to see again a cardiologist

i went to see my cardio the next day, have ecg and the diagnosis was that ---sinus tachycardia otherwise normal.
- he told me maybe thats the cause of my lump feeling, that I am always burping..
- he didnt ask me to take meds for tachycardia because he said its not really that serious, stress and anxiety might just cause it. I even asked him if I might have heart attack with the diognosis, then he assured me that no, a sinus tachycardia is not serious. I just need to rest and relax. And then have myself practice a breathing exercise, he also told me to exercise so that I will get used of my breathing.

Since I have no thyroid problems, then my rapid beating is not serious.

But I wonder why, I still burp and burp most of the time then it creates a lump feeling in my throat..

I think u might be right, yonx I might have digestion problems, should I see and endoctronolgst?

Thanks so much

thanks for your reply. Actually I may have worded it wrong. The food feels like it sits at the bottom of my throat/neck area, before my chest. It feels like it sits there and then a bit later it feels like it is normal again except for the tight throat and lump feeling. The ativan has been big time calming and relaxing my throat but as soon I didn't take the ativan for a whole day and the lump, the tightening came right back in full force.

Okay I am so nervous again because my lump was getting a bit better but has come back in full force. I have my egd this monday and am so scared what the might find and also that something may go wrong..Etc etc...Also I keep re-reading this thread and am more scared then ever because everyone that has posted that has experienced posted that they don't have a hard time eating and that it goes away. Sometimes I feel like I cannot swallow my food and when I do (like today) it feels like it is stuck at the bottom of my neck/throat. It just sits there and feels like I cannot eat another bite until it gets all the way down. Does anyone else experience this too?? I am worried I have a tumor blocking something. The thing is it is on and off too and the ativan helped a bit. This is just terrible and I feel for you all who experience this lump tight throat crap. I was actually hoping that I may be able to cancel my appointment especially after I started the ativan and the condition seemed to improve but apparently this crap just isn't going to go away. :(

Sweetpea that was not meant to scare you. You have misunderstood. The doctor is treating you for stress and reflux. That is good news not bad. If he thought you had cancer he would have you on chemo or radiation or something. So when I said the drugs you are on cannot cure cancer, that should have relieved you, not scared you. Do not be afraid of the test you are meant to be having. Peace of mind about your condition will be the greatest aid to getting better. I'm sorry I upset you.

Hi pie...Good to know you've had the tests and you have nothing serious that can't be fixed.
Burping is a sign for sure that you have either a digestion problem...Or you are filling yourself with fizzy drinks ?? (these are a danger to health in themselves)(the fizz I mean)
you need the enzymes to aid digestion or change the diet as suggested, or make gradual improvements to the diet, getting better as time goes by.
I would say that you would be greatly helped by taking the probiotics as well as the enzymes, esp since taking antibiotics.
As for further tests? It's entirely up to you. Wish you well.

Throat Tightness
I recently got married and have been struggling with this throat tightness both before and after. I had difficulty deciding whether to get married and felt a lot of stress about it. Now that I did get married, the stress and tightness in my throat has not gotten better. I either feel that my throat is closed or that I can swallow with pain and difficulty and actual noise. This is very painful around my adams apple and the more I think about it the worse it gets. Does anyone have thoughts about this? One post said it is a self resolving problem but I don't see how.

thanks for clarifying. I had to reschedule my procedute for the 15th since that is when my husband can get away from work and be with me. I had also taken ibuprofen and prilosec too close to the procedure (not supposed to take that stuff a week prior to procedure) anyway, I have lost weight because I am only eating soft foods like soup, cottage cheese. The food is so hard to get down my throat and always feels like it sticks. I am still scared of whatever is doing this but I hope and pray it is fixable and not life threatening. Good luck to all of you going through this and I hope noone had any thing that is not repairable. This is depressing.

Throat Tightness
:(
hello everyone....I am new to this forum. I typed in tight throat and this came up and I can't believe how many of you are suffering just like me. I have had this tight/lump in the throat for nearly three years now  it went away for three months and now is back full force. I went to my family Dr. And ent and a gastro doc...They all did tests and tell me they can't find anything other than globus hystericus. I even had my tonsils out! that didn't take it away....I have always had anxiety and panic attacks, I am forty something. This is so depressing. I do notice after eating, food seems to back up and when I lie down it is uncomfortable. I get an irritated feeling, like sore or burned sensation most of the time.
I seem to have a lot of mucus at night and a very dry mouth at night too. I tried prilosec otc for three months but it didn't help.
Any other suggestions. I always think the worse and I fear this is something horrible that the drs. Just haven't found...
Sorry to go on, I am just so depressed and fearful of this thing.
Thanks for listening.

Well I said I would update after my procedure so here it is. I had my edg today and the test itself was a piece of cake. I didn't feel or remember a thing. That's the good news. The bad news is they found that I have esophagitis and also found a nodule in my stomach that got sent off to be biopsied. I guess I waited to long to go to doc for my acid reflux :( I am so scared now that a) the biopsy on the nodule will be something awful and b) the esophagitis will turn into baretts espohagus.

Throat Nodule
Hello sweet p
i know how upset you are....Been there...But try not to worry too much. My friend had a nodule just like what you are describing and they did a biopsy and it was no big deal. But it was a good thing to have it removed...What is esophagitis?? :? I have had throat problems/stomach for three years now...Let me know how things turn out for you....And really .... Try not to stress yourself too much...I am sure you know how bad stress is for us...
Regards
