Below are extracts from a site on lumps in the throat. I agree that a correct diagnosis is important, but if nothing is found, or if the problem is fluctuating as in here today and gone tomorrow, then the fear of what is happening, (or not), is enough to make the condition worse. As the below site says it is nothing to worry about , so don't stress your thoughts with it.
If you feel that there is definitely something there, get a 2nd and 3rd opinion...Go to a naturopath...They at least will recommend a natural treatment for the throat or the fear, with no side effects to worry about.
lump in throat & difficulty swallowing:
globus hystericus: it is caused by the muscles in the throat contracting due to anxiety or stress. Sometimes it feels like you cannot swallow anything, and trying to makes it worse. This is another example of a symptom, which will improve if you give it no credibility. It is totally harmless and will not cause you to stop breathing, eating or drinking, it is just very unpleasant.

some people have gastroesophageal reflux disease (gerd) without even knowing it. They may feel like they have a lump feeling in the throat or have food stuck in their throat or like they are choking or their throat is sore or tight, or hoarseness in the morning, or trouble swallowing. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (gerd) can also cause a dry cough and bad breath, and breathing difficulties similar to asthma.
Always get a second opinion if you are not sure about your diagnosis. It is always best to seek professional medical care and advice from your physician with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.
