Hi, okay, I take ortho-tri cyclen lo, and I am on the sunday start. Well the last weeks pills, (inactive pills) I was just wondering, are these just reminder pills, do I have to take them or can I just stop taking them for that week then start again on the white ones the following week. Wasnt sure if the inactive sugar pills had to be taken or not.

Also: is is maybe the sugar pills, that add/ may contribute to weight gain? So wouldnt it be healtheir to not take them?

Thanks for any replies : )

The way my doctor put it to me when she put me on ortho-tri cyclen lo was that all they are there for is to help to remind you to take your pill. She said that it was better if you took them but if you forgot one than its not a big deal so I dont see why you couldn't skip them all together....I know girls who do that and they are fine

They are purely sugar pills, but it's always best to practice good habits with birth control. You're already taking the rest of the month, why not take that one week of sugar pills. I figure, I would rather take the pills than be unexpectedly pregnant.
