I have had skin issues with my lips for over a year. They started out being amazingly unsatiably dry for no reason at first for a few months, and over time it developed into a condition where acidic (incl. Tomatoes and fruits), salty, spicy foods - anything with taste, additionally alcohol and prolonged sun exposure, cause my lips to react. They puff up like a bad botox job, get rashy and irritated. Sometimes they ooze a little liquid and I wake up in the morning looking liked i've been punched in the mouth with crusty junk on the edges of my mouth from the dried ooze. Sometimes they are irritated in general - I am desperate for a solution. I've tried protopic and dermatop and they didn't work. I had skin patch testing done and i'm allergic to nothing, though that derm suggested that for some unexplainable reason I have damaged the skinon my lips and the acidic, spicy, etc, items don't cause the irritation but rather are like putting alcohol on an open wound - the wound is there and these things cause discomfort to the skin that's wounded. Does anyone have any ideas on what to try? Putting a thick coat of carmex on before eating/drinking doesn't work either. It's affecting my quality of life and needs a solution. Thanks
