Appx four years ago, I had an attack that
seemed like a heart attack (pain in left
side, numbness, etc). Hospital checked
me out and gave me a clean bill of health
without knowing what caused it.
Fast forward to a couple months ago, I
have had three similar attacks with a
bunch of smaller attacks. All have pain
in my left shoulder with numbness and
tingling down the left arm. A rise in
blood pressure, and anxienty, shakiness,
and sweats happens as well. I went to
the doctor and they felt it was not heart
related. I went through a hida scan and
my gall bladder functioned at 70% (hyper
gall bladder), but I had intense pain
during the scan (not on my left side
though). I went through a cat scan, and
was scoped to see if I had an ulcer (i
only had some erosion from acid reflux).
The cat showed abnormal on a lymph node in
my chest, so I went through a pet scan and
passed without any problems. So, tests
showed no heart disease, no cancer, no
high blood pressure, no liver problems, no
blood disorders, no kidney function
problems.
So, last week (tuesday) I had my gall
bladder removed. The surgeon said there
was some scarring of the gall bladder and
he hoped that its removal would solve my
issues. Well, I am having another attack
today. I did eat some fatty foods last
night, but everything I have had today has
been fat free. I'm not sure what could
be causing these issues if it is not the
gall bladder.
Any suggestions on what I can research?
I will be getting back with the doctor on
monday....
Thanks

The above is my post. I was not logged
on at the time :(
fwiw, during the "attacks", I have no
heart palpitations, blood pressure is
around 140's / upper 80's - mid 90's, but
my fiance refers to it as "booming" (yeah,
she's a nurse). "attack" lasts up to 3-4
hours. Blood sugars are normal, my
cholesterol was only slightly high.
Chest pain is more in the upper
left-breast to shoulder region and
sometimes feels like a muscle soreness
that radiates down my left arm. While
the pain and numbness/sorness in the arm
is not fun, the anxiety and shakiness that
occurs during the attacks are what I am
having the major problems dealing with.
When the attack is over, I am fine, but
feel drained and tired. These do not
seem to be stress related as they can
occur at any time.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Keep Your Body Parts! Posted: 02-14-06 01:16am
I would reccomend not letting the doctors
take out any more body parts. Alternative
medicine goes a long ways. Conventional
medicine is helpful in seeing from the
inside exactly what you're dealing with,
but in the long run, common western
medicine techniques have a negative
cascade effect on the body. Do not let
them take your body parts, especially over
a little scarring! Our bodies have an
amazing capeability to heal. We have to
give it the right resources though.
Consider stress as a factor in these
attacks. Stress has an amazingly negative
effect on the body. Studies are linking
it to cancer, heart disease, ulcers, etc..
Try bikram yoga, get massage therapy, or
cranial sacral therapy. Good luck.
