Hi

new to the site, and feeling quite worried about my health. I went to see my doctor a couple of months ago, because I had noticed that over time I had developed very red palms. I investigated this on the internet, and the only diagnosis I could come up with was 'palmar erythema', and as i'm not pregnant the only cause seemed to be chronic liver disease.

My doctor did some liver function tests, and felt under my rib cage. The blood results came back as normal, and the doctor said he could not even feel my liver, and therefore I was worrying about liver damage unnecessarily (i did not ask him about my hands just told him I was worried about my health due to long term alcohol abuse).

I carried on drinking quite heavily, but could not get rid of the feeling that the dr may be wrong.

I have now stopped drinking and smoking, and whilst I feel better, I do feel quite tired all the time, and my hands are as bad as ever. I wondered if anyone else had experienced palmar erythema, and whether it cleared up over time? Anyone know of any remedies etc?

Also, if I do have cirrhosis, can I live a long time as long as I take good care of my health?

Thanks
