Could I Be Bi Polar And Not Even Know It? Posted: 06-15-05 23:42pm
I went to my fiance's doctor a couple of
times and recently we've been having a
really hard time so he asked his doctor if
he could referr us to couple councelling.
His doctor replied with 'is she bi
polar'? Ofcourse my fiance was taken by
surprise and the doctor went on to list
some of the symptoms.
I've never had anyone ask that but could
I be??? Are there different degrees of
bi polar that can be confused with
depression???
How can a doctor whose known you for a
mere 15 minutes total see something like
this, is there something i'm missing???
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I think anythings possible. Doctors are
trained to see these symptoms and they
could detect this better than anyone else.
I'd look into it if I were you. If you
ever do feel all of a sudden angry and mad
get a piece of paper and a pen and write
down everything you are feeling at that
moment so you can look back and maybe see
what triggered these all of a sudden
moments. If you can figure out the
starting point then maybe you will be more
alert to when you have these outbreaks. I
do have one question, do you think you are
bi polar?

When I went to see the doctor again, he
told me what he thought and asked me all
these questions related to bi polar.
Turns out he was wrong as I suspected.
He made a quick judgment based on only 15
minutes of knowing me, as he said himself,
this isn't his area of expertise he is
merely a family doctor.
