Yesterday was izabella's one month check-up with the neurologist.

She is still experiencing small seizures while on trileptal. The neurologist has increased her dose to 2.2ml. If they still continue, then we will need to increase the dose to 2.4ml. If she still continues to have them while on trileptal, then we will need to change her medication.

We also received a prescription for a 24 hour eeg. Can anyone tell me about this?

Concerned mother!

I hope that increasing the meds will help izabella.....A 24 hour eeg can be in patient as a video eeg or an outpatient ambulatory eeg> either case they glue on the electrodes with a stronger glue and usually wrap the child's head with qauze to keep them on well. There is a pack to carry or wear with equipment to record what is going on in the brain for that day.

Often there is a log to write down what she does, like when she eats, takes meds or sleeps. There is also a push button to push if you see a seizure. Helps them find it on the tracing.

I hope this helps!
