I have had tmj for many years and I have found huge relief with acupuncture. I went for acupuncture for sinus problems and ended up having the acupuncturist treat me for tmj as well. I have had relief from pain, I still grind my teeth but much less now(so my husband says), my jaw does not hurt in the morning and my jaw has actually shifted into a normal position. I use to have to yawn out of the side of my mouth which I do not have to do now. I can open my mouth wider without the clicking and grinding. It only took 4 treatments. I am going for a 5th treatment and that should be the end of it for now. I just wanted to give someone some hope that there is help out there! It might not owrk for everyone but it is one of those things that will not hurt to try.
