Hi.
You know it is wrong. It is not the right way to carry on and I am sure you are aware by all future problems this can kead to. This problem is usually much more complicated than it seems to other people and I would really suggest you to speak with school nurse or your parents.
Please to this.
There is a help.
If you train you don't have to worry about calories cuz you are burning them off with the training. Healthy eating is way forward. If you do want to loose weight and need to do so there are other ways than starvation. A better option that will not ruin your life.
Please take care and good luck

Firstly I want to say yes I do think you have an eating disorder and well done for realising it so soon. Lilo said that is wrong to behave the way you are but I don't agree, it is a way of coping. Your behaviour around food is your coping mechasim for living life.
Eating disorders are about how are person thinks and feels about themselves and how others view them and thats usually in a negavitive way. Our behaviour around food is only the symtom of an underlinning problem. And so eating disorders are neither good nor bad because they help u get through life and although we never chose to have an eating disorder we do have to choice whether to recover from it or not and that is the good part of having an eating disorder because through your eating disorder you discover who are you and what you want out of life and that is somthing thats very good because many people in life don't know what they want or who they are.
Another thing is that there are medical complactions which can be very serious and I would beg you to go and see a doctor, you don't even have to say why you are there, just say you wanted a full check up and get your bloods done because you can cause serious damage to yourself, believe me.
Recovery is something which I would hope that you want because you might only have develpoed your behaviuor around food in the past while but i'm telling you, mentally it gets so dark and so lonely that you don't even want to be around anymore. That is not a place I want you to see so please please get help. Ask someone, ring someone but just please get help. You deserve it, you need it and you get there in the end.
I was just want to mention to that recovery from an eating disorder does not mean putting on weight, if you go to the right place you will understand that. Recovery is about finding out who you are and finding different ways of coping with life.
I wish you the best of luck and if you have any questions please write to me ok. Take care!

Just to reply that I completely agree with everything you said. And by "wrong" I ment "behave the way we shouldn't be".
I really hope you are taking this advice. Please do before it is too late.
It is very lonely place

Hey hun, I know it feels like caca but that can happen. Alot of people who are anorexic become bulimic but the reasons for your behaviour are the same. The one thing I can say is get help because the longer you live with this as a secret the harder it is to accepy help.
I know that you are strong and I know that you are very scared but believe me you can do this and you will recover but you have to make the first step and ask for help. There is only so much people on the forum can help you with but the rest you really have to do yourself and saying that there will always be people to help you along the way and you will never be alone, there will always people to hold your hand through this and you will get there.
Believe me its not worth living in such hell for much longer because alot of people get to the stage where they end up wanting to die and I am one of those people and I would hate to see you go down that low.
You deserve to get help, you deserve to be free from your eating disorder. Please do this for you and if you can't do it for you yet do it for the people you love and for the people that love you.
I hope your doing ok today, write anytime ok.
Take care!

Hun its not about under eating or over eating but that is what will cause you the most hardship because at the moment your not iin recovery and that is all you know, weight.
I know people say that they can get better by eating normal again but what if it happens sometime in the future when your married and have kids, this isn't about your weight, its about how you think and feel about yourself and that is in a negative way although you might not be aware of it, many people aren't until the get help and start recovering.
Even after a year of therapy, I am still so unaware but at least I know that.
You sound like such a great person I would hate to see you get any worse because it really is hell, there is no other word to descibe it because hell is what we live through everyday.
But I do want to say well done for no getting sick, it shows how strong you are and that you can do anything you set your mind to, why not set your mind on recovery and it would get you so much father.
Recovery is about discovering who you are, the person behind the behaviour, it helps you to find your purpose in life, your dreams and meaning, you deserve to live a happy life, whatever that may be.
Think about what I am saying ok, you do deserve it and you will get there.
Well done for yesterday, you did great! Keep up the good work but don't beat yourself up if you get sick again ok because it is not you, it is only a behaviour, a behaviour you have to work hard on to recover from.
I hope today is a good one for you, write whenever you want k

take care

Hi. I couldn't do it. I didn't eat anything today but a banana. I even tried to force myself to eat it, but I didn't. I mean I want to eat and everything, but I won't. I think my friends are starting to realize too. We went out to eat for pizza, and I didnt eat anything. They kept asking me what was wrong. Then they were making a joke and saying I was becoming anereoxic, and I got really upset because it's the truth. When they said this, I walked out of the room, so I know they know:(

I Have a Hard Time Eating In Front of People Too
Posted: 06-24-05 22:07pm

Even if I would have been able to eat by myself at home, if I go to a restaurant or am at someone else's house, I really have a hard time. It is almost like that there is too much pressure to eat or I feel that they will be judging me on whether I eat or don't eat or how much.
Eat when you can. Try not to feel like you binged either if you eat a normal sized meal. I know, all too well, that it is tough.

Get help!!!! You can't get over this by hiding it. I guess you are very young (*a teenager?) & you haven't had this long, so you have a good chance of getting over it quickly.

But you need to see a doctor (yes, it's hard, but it's better than killng yourself). Tell your parents & friends too, so they can support you. It's nothing to be ashamed of.

Lots of people (including me) have this disease & you can get over it but you need to reach out. There are even support gorups (google anad for a group near you). Good luck! You can do it!

Hey yall! I feel so empty, and I just want to lose weight. I'm going on vacation in about a month, and I have to be thin. I tell myself this must stop, but it's out of control.

Anorexia Nervosa: When Thin Isn't Enough
Posted: 07-19-05 19:16pm

Anorexia nervosa may surface any time between the ages of 6 and 30, but it usually begins during the teen years. Anorexia nervosa often begins when a teenager successfully follows a diet or when a teen decides to "buff up." many times the teenager is at a normal weight when they begin to diet. The teen reaches the chosen goal, but feels they are still not thin enough. Even though the individual may now be extremely thin, they feel fat. So the teen resolves to diet even more. Anorexia nervosa affects girls more often boys, but there has been an increase in the number of males suffering from anorexia. Guys face similar societal pressures to be strong/buff and also have trouble with self-esteem issues that contribute to the development of eating disorders. The person's family may not realize what's happening until the anorexic becomes dangerously underweight. By this time, they may not be eating anything at all or may still be eating some food, while severely restricting their fat intake. Exercise may continue relentlessly, for hours each day, adhering to a rigorous schedule that burns up even more unwanted calories. No matter what the person's friends and family might say, the anorexic refuses to give up their extreme diet. Without professional intervention, the individual will continue to get thinner until their health, or life, is in serious danger. Anorexia usually begins in the teen years. The typical anorexic is a perfectionist and an overachiever, excelling in school and involved with lots of activities. Often, the preoccupation with weight starts in response to a stressful event, like changes with or loss of friends or problems in the family. Or, it may begin as a way to stave off general pressures like growing up, "fitting in" socially, doing well in school, or keeping things happy in the family. Such preoccupation represents an attempt to regain control over a sometimes painful, confusing world. But then the diet begins to control the dieter.

"anorexia nervosa" literally means loss of appetite due to nervousness. But the name is misleading. Except in advanced phases of the illness, the person with anorexia nervosa is always hungry. A person with anorexia exercises enormous control to restrict their eating.

Exercise and a healthy diet is the best way to lose weight. Please don't make your family and yourself suffer.

Brittany--- trust me I know what you're going through; you're in the beginning of an eating disorder so you still feel uncomfortable about it and there is still time to back out. I was annerexic for a lot of this school year and became bulemic this spring- and the pressure I put on myself was incredibly difficuilt to deal with... I didn't want to go see a dr or tell my friends either- I just wanted to handle it myself. They say that people that get bulemia are competitive, independant, overachievers.. Sound familiar? Well for me it did, so it explains why I was so stubborn.. One day this past week I threw up blood and it scared me to death-- i've thrown up once since then, and my throat was so sore afterwards I lost my voice... It's been 6 days since i've thrown up, something ive been doing after every meal for the past couple months, and honestly.. I feel so much better. I'm eating healthily and taking better care of myself in general, it's very difficuilt not to go to the bathroom after I eat and most of the time I even get nauseaus afterwards, but in the long run i'm feeling so much better.. Don't let this get the better of you- it seriously isn't worth the anxiety and the physical pain and just the stress of finding a bathroom to get sick in or to find ways to tell your friends you ate at home or aren't hungry.
If you need a recovery partner -- keep posting your progress-- there are a lot of us going thru his process right now and the more you talk to people who can relate the easier it gets
i'm just glad we all realize that we can do better than starving ourselves and /or throwing it up.

-good luck to all yall

Everything is great!!! I have started eating about 1,000 calories a day now, and I started playing softball, and i'm actually quite good at it but never knew it!!! I'm sooo excited. This has been going on for about a week. I have a boy friend, and things couldn't be much better. I encourage all of you out there who is suffering from bulemia or anneroxia to go out and live your life because you are missing sooooo much!!!
