Yesterday, I was diagnosed with temporal
lobe epilepsy. Dr. Gave me trileptal
for seizure meds.
After three years, it's nice to know,
although not good news, it could have been
worse.
My boss told me I can't work till i'm
cleared to work, cuz the Dr. Said I
should avoid driving. Well, since i'm a
cop, that will be hard to do. I suppose
it's time for a career change.

I am glad that your mystery is solved but
it sounds like you have a lot more to deal
with as well...
Can you do a desk job for a time? Is is
necessary that both officers in a team
drive? What are the police policy's on
disability or having a seizure disorder?
If I were you, I would look into ada
accomodations. Seems that they should
find something for you to do as you get
control...
Hang in there. Hoping that trileptal
works well for you!

How is the medication working for you?
My daughter is 6 1/2 months old and is on
the same mecication. They keep
increasing the dose, becasue she is still
having small seizures.

I still had a shitload of seizures
yesterday, and I have been on the meds
over a week. I am taking trileptal, and
just started yesterday with the 300 mg in
the am, and 600 at night. I was 5 days
of 300/300, and before that just 300 at
night for 3 days.
I got my medilert necklace and bracelet
though.
I am so sick of this caca I don't know
what to do.
Lol, the censor changed my actual terms.

Try not to get too discouraged, it can
take weeks or months to get to the right
dosage of meds to stop seizures. Some
people even need a combo of meds...Hang in
there I know it is tough to wait. Tough
having seizures...
Hope the meds kick in soon....Do you keep
a journal of your seizures, like what
happens before and after and what anyone
else might see? It can help the neuro
figure things out and find triggers....
