I'm interested in knowing info and sharing info with others that might be female with alports. Alport's usually affects men much more severely, and women are usually carrier's. This is not always true. I have alport's and am female with substantial hearing loss and some recent cornea and eyesight problems.
I would be interested in learning of any other females with alports. I also would like to hear of any successful transplants, the drawbacks, highpoints and maybe suggestions of anything I can do, diet wise, etc ......To postpone esrd as long as possible.

Im 42 and have a 7 yr old son. I have a hubby willing to donate, but do not know how you do a volunteer donor? I've read that you dont necessarily have to wait, if you have live, willing, donor.....But how do I get that ball rolling?

Any info will be appreciated........
One last thing........Anxiety level? Anyone had panic attacks since being diagnosed and what medications if any seem helpful?
