Whew, glad I found a forum dedicated to birth control. Here is my background:

my girlfriend and I have been having sex for about 6 weeks now, only contraceptive we've been using are condoms. Recently, her dad found one of our condoms (kinda embarrassing, but whatever) so now my girlfriend is becoming more adamant about exploring other birth control methods like the pill. I have some questions:

1. Where should be get "the pills" from? Prescription I assume?
2. If she's on the pill, should I continue to use a condom? <-- this is assuming she doesn't forget to take the pill any day out of the month of course.
3. How much will it cost?

Thanks.

Hi there.

The pill doesnt cost you a thing, she will go to the doctors, they will check her blood pressure and weight and they will find the right one for her. Then the doctor will prescribe it.
If shes honest with you she will tell you whether she has forgotten to take it for whatever reason, then you should use other protection. Otherwise get yourselfs both checked out and if your both clean then there is no reason to use a condom.

Hope that helps

I would still use a condom if you have them around.....2 is always better than one and the pill is not 100% effective....Its always better to be safe than sorry...My boyfriend and I use both because I know way too many people that have had babies while on the pill and I dont want to be one of them.
