We burp, belch and fart an average of 12 times a day. But why do we have gas? And what is intestinal gas?...the basics here....

For years i've had gas with burping and pain in upper chest. The heart is fine i've done all the tests. This has been going on for at least 6 years and getting worse all the time. I've been scoped and comes back normal. Never has a doctor said anything about gallbladder problems. Evening meals are the worse. Also a little beer is very bad. I've stopped milk and alcohol for weeks and problem continues. The chest pain and bloating lasts for 3 days at times and I feel so weak its unreal, i'm 50 now. Tomorrow I see doctor about gallbladder tests. Has anyone else felt this chest type pain with weakness and unable to burp. The days I don't have it I can do anything and feel fine. Thanks for any info.

I have had the same symptoms for 4 months now. I am going to get an ultrasound of the stomach tomorrow to see if it is gall bladder. Does your pain go strait through to your back sometimes? Once I told the doctor that he ordered the ultrasound. It's disturbing to say but i'm hoping that it is my gall bladder and they just take it out so that I can be done with all of this pain. It is ruining my life!

I just had ultra sound done. The tech wouldn't say anything but i'm sure it was negative because she ordered a hi-da scan later in week. I've had this for over 8 years to some degree. No back pain just upper chest area with huge gas problems at times. Not sure what i'm doing now, I do have a gerds problem too. I was sure it was gallbladder but don't know now. Like you I just wanted it out. I'm waiting for a phone call now from doc. Good luck, its a real pain.
