Q: Stomach Removed Question About Diet

My son had his stomach removed 14 years ago. As the prescribed diets did not work for him, the specialist advised him to find out what he could endure best. It was advised that he takes 6 to 8 small meals a day. But he has to inject himself before he even eats a cookie. So that meant 6 to 8 injections a day. Even so eating causes dumping syndrome, wich means that even after a small bite he has to rest for an hour or more. Now he takes only two meals a day. Thus he has some energy in the morning, depending on how he got trough the night. (often vomiting in his sleep) he found out that he can compensate the general loss of energy by using a lot of refined sugar. In general this is contrary to all advice on this point. His question is : is there anyone that has the same experience. That is: has anyone found out that going against the advices from doctor an dietist makes him/her feel better.
He has been experimenting in this field for so may years now.
Thank you for any reaction
