I'm 19 and I haven't changed to a "adult doctor", as my mom would say. The reason i'm writing this because I have, what I call, attacks. I had my first attack about 2 years ago, it was so intense that I was taken to the er. They consist of intense pressure and sharp pains in the lower ab region. The second attack was about 2 months ago. Between those two I thought I had become lactose intolerant and that was the reason for the pain. But slowly I started eating less. The less I ate the less it hurt. Last attack was so intense that although I didn't have the guts to go to the er I sent the entire time running between bathroom and bed. Next day I went to the doc and was given nexium and was diagnosed with gastritis. But the more I research the symptoms the less it sounds like what I have. There are symptoms like vomiting and nausea that I don't have at all. All I have is intense pain, stabbing like, about 5 inchs directly below my belly button, around the intestines. Theres no lower rib pain, or anything. I've been taking the medicine everyday since it was prescribed but I think I forgot one day and that was the day of the third attack. The medicine seems to be working but its not curing it just preventing it.
Is there anything else that gives the symptoms I have but can be relieved by nexium?
I'm so lost.
