Just wondering how likely it is that I have a form of chronic mastoiditis or chronic otits media...

For around 8-10 years now I have been experienceing the following symptoms in my left ear in various levels of intensity:

sensation of blockage/fullness
pain within what feels like the ear canal

i have also experienced the occasional tonsollith that apparently comes from above my tonsils, toward the rear of the nasal cavity.

Symptoms common to otitis media that are abscent are that I do not
detect any loss of hearing.

Prior to the onset, my ears popped regularly throughout the day, however, following onset, only the right now pops with any frequency, the
left often not popping for days at a time.

Not knowing how to read a ct scan, I cannot identify any features, however my write-up indicates that no mastoid abnormalities have been identified. This scan was not high/enhanced resolution.

It is apparent from the ct scan that my left eustachian tube is a little more 'cramped' than my right.

Behind the eustacian tube there is a cavity that I am assuming is the mastoid cavity, which appears to be clear. However, the cranial bone wall at one particular point looks as if it has been, or is likely to be, penetrable.

I have seen a variety of doctors, both general practice and ent, and I seem to get no joy/relief from any consultation so far.

Should I be concerned, and/or does anyone have any helpful advice in this situation?

Just remember, norelief, that the doctors are the experts and if the scan looks clear to them, you probably shouldnt worry too much? Xx

Thanks For the Reply
Thank you for your reply, replies are somewhat scant on this forum.

I was pretty sure that mastoiditis was not the case, however, having been seeking medical attention for this ongoing problem for almost a decade, I was clutching at straws.

I have not been experiencing any noticeable hearing loss in any form and this only serves to confuse me further as to a cause and, thus, a remedy.
