Hi all,
over the past year I would say, I have been experiencing a loss of breath, increased heartrate, and shaky hands. I saw an info-mercial on tv, and figure online would be a good place to find out where to start.
Its come to a point where it bothers me almost everyday and I worry about it. For instance, it happens when I meet new people, and maybe drink a glass of something, my hands shake terribly, or while trying to play a game of poker with people I am not close with. It is also a problem for online games that I play with other people. I will start to lose my breath, and have to breath deeply, my hands will shake so I cant type very well. Also going up stairs, or driving to a place where I meet a new person. I am in shock with new people that I lose my words, fumble my speech, and sweat. Sometimes to the point where I need to get a drink of water and calm myself down. It took me a little while to get the guts and stop shaking before I posted in here.
Now, I have been reading posts in here. I am not too familiar with doctors, as I only have been to a walk in clinic a few times since we stopped going to the pediatrician when I was younger. I am 21 years old now. Should I just goto the walk in clinic and tell them the problems I am having, or should I find a regular doctor to see? Is there a special doctor I should seek out, or a psychiatrist? I have told my parents that I think there is something wrong, and they tell me its just my imagination. Are these symptoms of anxiety or something more?
Any help would be appreciated,
thanks
chris
