My friend's boyfirend has been cheating on her and he gave her trichomoniasis. She has been having abd. Cramping, the itchy vagina, and now she is spotting when she uses the restroom. What advice would you give her. I am lost for words about the situation. Please help her!

Hi hurricane,

i'm glad your friend has a caring person like you in her life to help her out. It sounds as though her boyfriend has given her a rough time. She is lucky in one respect, trichomoniasis is the most easy to treat and cure of all std's. Some std's such as herpes are not curable, controllable maybe but not curable. She needs to go to her doctor and request a prescription for metronidazole. Abdominal pain can occur with trichomoniasis, aswell as a frothy, yellowish green vaginal discharge with a strong odor. It may also cause discomfort during intercourse and urination. Irritation and itching of the genital area are other symptoms. Your friend must take all the medication prescribed, even if the symptoms go away, and she must not have intercourse until she has finished the medication.

I hope that helps, good luck to your friend, I hope she is feeling better soon.

Suzy
