Q: Alcohol Withdrawal Symptoms

Hello,

I am writing to find out if possibly I am going through alcohol withdrawal. I went to the hospital april 9, 2005 for acid reflux. The doctor asked me if I drank because my blood was a little thin. I said yes. So from that day forth I decided not to drink anymore.

Two days later I was in a ambulance for tachacardia. I used to drink beer 3 times a day and on the weekend a 12 pack. Since then it has been all downhill. I have gotten severe hypertension, headaches, and tremors. I am 30 years old and was perfectly healthy up untill this point.

I thought for sure it was my thyroid but the test was negative. I did a blood test on my pancreas and the results was a little high. I am currently taking atenolol for the hypertension. I thought alcohol withdrawal only last a few weeks but I still have hypertension 7 weeks later.

The only real problem is the high blood pressure now. Does anyone know how long alcohol withdrawal last? Has anyone had these symptoms before? Perhaps you can give me an idea of what I have? Hope to hear from you.

It depends on your leghth of alcohol drinking usage history and how much you drank... It could take months. Rarely.
It took me 5 days of no sleep, sweating at night. And angry mood swings.
But now im sober and happpy and dont feal like drinking. :)
