Hello - i'm new to the forum!

I was diagnosed with a mild case of lupus in november 2004. It came out of nowhere - the pain in my hands and feet and the constant tiredness. I have 3 children and most recently gave birth in july 2004. My doctor told me that postpartum onset of lupus is common. I was treating with plaquenil but didn't feel any better so I have been on methotrexate for the last month with some improvement.

I was wondering if anyone out there had an iud in place before being diagnosed with lupus. I had an iud put in for the first time in october 2004. Could it be that this is what triggered all my problems? I am going to have it removed for a few months to see if I feel better...Guess it's worth a shot. I'm to the point where i'll try anything!
