I NEED TO HELP MY COUSIN

OKAY .... HERE IS THE STORY THAT I NEED HELP WITH. MY COUSIN IS 16 AND IS 7 MONTHS PREGNANT. SHE GOT PREGNANT WHILE STAYING AT HER BOYFRIENDS HOUSE (HES THE SAME AGE). HIS MOTHER ENDED KICKING MY COUSIN OUT OF THE HOUSE. Crying
or Very sad
WELL THATS WHAT I NEED THE ADVICE ON...... SHE BARELY FOUND OUT AROUND 4 MONTHS AGO THAT SHE WAS PREGNANT..... SHE TOLD HER BOYFRIEND (THEY HAVE BEEN TOGETHER FOR 2 YEARS) WHEN SHE FOUND OUT, AND HE SEEM "OK" WITH IT. THEN HIS MOTHER ENDED UP FINDING OUT, AND IS THREATENING TO TAKE HER CHILD AWAY. SHE CLAIMS THAT MY COUSIN IS AN "UNFIT" MOTHER. Rolling Eyes
I KNOW THAT THAT IS NOT TRUE.... YES IT IS TRUE MY COUSIN MAY BE YOUNG..... YET SO ARE MANY OTHER TEEN MOTHERS.... AND THEY END UP DOING JUST FINE IN THE END. SHE ALSO HAS A VERY SUPPORTING FAMILY... TO HELP HER OUT. Very
Happy
MY COUSIN DOESNT DO ANY DRUGS, OR DOESNT PARTY OR ANYTHING.... IT WAS SIMPLY A MISTAKE! Embarassed
WHAT CAN SHE DO NOW TO ENSURE THE SECURITY OF THE BABY. SHE NEVER ONCE PUSHED HER BOYFRIEND AWAY.... HE WAS THE ONE THAT BROKE IT OFF.
DO YOU KNOW OF ANYONE WITH THE SAME OR SIMILAR SITUATION TO HELP HER OUT.... PLEEEEZZ!! SHE NEEDS ALL THE HELP THAT SHE CAN GET. FROM LEGAL ADVICE, TO A SUGGESTION OF HOW THIS CAN ALL BE RESOLVED. (IF IT HELPS SHE LIVES IN CALIFORNIA AND THE RULES MAY BE DIFFERENT THERE)

Yeah, I might have some useful advice.

As to legal terms--don't worry--the laws to be an "unfit mother" are insanely flexible. Unless the mother has an extensive criminal record, and drinks constantly, and resorts to drug use often, then the accuser would have a case. She'd have to be pretty darn evil to be in the courtroom as an unfit mother. That's more California than it is Idaho, so I don't think there's worry over that. But don't forget that your cousin is still a minor. This means that her parents have control over what happens to the baby. How I know? Let's just say my father is a great lawyer.

The child support? Yeah, there's a conflict. Well, if she can't provide an adequate amount for the child, there are governmental programs in which that can be provided. Welfare, for example, is one way. It's not difficult to qualify for welfare, but nowadays that term seems derogatory to some people. I personally believe it's nothing to be ashamed about. But also, if she has a supporting family to help her out, these programs are just an option if all else fails, and that's the way to treat it.

Well, I'll certainly keep your cousin in my prayers. Good luck!!!!!!
