Swelling In a 11 Year Olds Fingers

I don't know...
My daughters lymph node on the left side of her neck swelled up to softball size. It all started with an incredibly dry, painful sore throat fri.Nite. By sat. Morning her fever was up to 39.8 around 104.
Stayed that way till wednesday night. Dr. Gave her nothing, said it was a virus, after an emergency trip to the hospital wed. Night to get her voltarin when her groin glands started to swell, her fever broke, tested positive for mono on fiday. Told the Dr. Already on monday to do a monospot and culture for strep. Strep came back neg, chest x-ray revealed bronchitis, although that is not overly detectable on film!
These dr's!!!!
She is feeling o.K now, 9 days later after 3 days antibiotics.
I'm just having a hard time understanding such a high, perpetual fever from bronchitis or mono for so many days.

IM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 12 Y/O SON. IT STARTED OUT AS A SWOLLEN LYMPH NODE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF HIS NECK. THEN HE STARTED TO GET DIZZY. THIS WENT ON TILL ABOUT TUESDAY THEN THAT'S WHEN THE HIGH FEVERS STARTED. TOOK HIM TO THE DR ON TUESDAY SHE SAID IT WAS VIRAL AND HE TESTED NEG. FOR MONO. THEN THE FEVERS GOT HIGHER LIKE 105.5. TOOK HIM BACK AGAIN THURSDAY AND THEY DID MORE BLOOD WORK AND LIKE THE TIME BEFORE HIS WHITE BLOOD COUNT WAS DOWN AGAIN BUT EVEN MORE THIS TIME. SHE PUT HIM ON TAMFLU SAYING HE HAD SOME SORT OF THE FLU AND PREDNISONE FOR 7 DAYS. NOW HERE IT IS SUNDAY AGAIN AND WE ARE STILL BATTLING THE HIGH FEVERS AND STILL HAVE NO ANSWERS..GETTING VERY WORRIED THERE MIGHT BE SOMETHING ELSE WRONG....HE HAS HAD HIGH FEVERS SINCE TUESDAY AND NOW WE ARE HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING THEM TO GO DOWN. IT'S BEEN 7 DAYS NOW

See a Different doctor.

e.e CAPITALS ALOT OF THEM. well i say '' get a different doctor cause i went to one he did a strep throat and it came back positive and my gland (right side end of jaw near ear) MIGHT Have to be drained tommroww if it doesn't go down and, i came back and they gave me a different doctor and he said that's odd usually with strep my Lymph node Wouldn't be As ENLARGED As it was... o-o and he did a mono test And it came back Positive So try a different doctor (Also, i went On Amoxicillion which is bad if you have mono but no i'm on Amazdryan so really see a different doctor.)
