Q: Is Daydreaming ""alot"" Normal??

Does anyone ever wake up in the morning feeling nautious with an upset stomach? Someitmes it is hard for me to wake up in the morning. It hate it! But I push myself!

How about the feelings of being slow? Like your mind is a fog? Or that you are constantly daydreaming? Or your mind is preoccupied with thoughts/anything and you can easily be distracted from whats going on or being said around you? Sometimes I can miss direction or instructions. I dont know if its my anxiety that makes me daydream or if I have some sort of attention deficit? I feel like people think I am stupid but I am really smart! I just daydream alot. I consider myself more of a thinker as I am not loud and obnoxiousis. I am more calm and relaxed. My social anxiety may plan apart but I feel it is also my preference to be that way. As that is the way I am. It only bothers me when people think im too quiet. Sometimes I just dont want to talk, im too tired or there is nothing to talk about, yet I feel forced that I have to. But is daydreaming alot normal? That is my main concern.

I feel that I have some of the same issues you seem to be going through. I worry like crazy that I daydream toomuch. I daydream for hours and hours at a time wandering around my room and I don't know time passing. I am so scared this is abnormal but I cant stop for some reason. So you are not alone...Pm me if you want to, we can talk.

Well I usually walk around my room while I daydream, do you think its normal to daydream for hours, its almost like I have a fantasy life. When I daydream, anything could be happening in the real world and I don't care. Is this normal too?

What an fool you are, wes.

You may have more going on, like some type of seizure disorder or other disorder. Talk to your Dr., and don't ever take acid or meth.

Are you on anxiety meds? Tey can make you space out. I had trouble driving with klonopin so I had to get my dose reduced (im trying to get off of it completely but I am having trouble). A lot of those meds can make you act different

Hi there! Some people are just not morning people. If you do have to get up early, get you a time set coffee maker and make it so it is done before you get up, have a cup of coffee first thing, then take a shower and then eat something but be careful on the coffee because it is not good on the stomach. Maybe if everyone ignores what what weleyg says he might quit as he seems like he likes the attention.
Sincerely,
sandy

I wonder if I think too much sometimes? My mind is always full of thoughts and worries and most of all......""fantasies"".......It really bothers me. I can just sit in a chair and start daydreaming. I will look spaced out and weird. Then I realize I might be looking or acting strange so I try to snap out and concentrate real hard on my surroundings. It is soooooo hard to concentrate.

I know that we are constantly thinking. But are people constantly thinking about fantasies? Like thier life was better and they were rich popular, beautiful etc??? Thats what most of my thoughts consist of. I cant seem to focus on any other thoughts? Is anyone like me??? I really hate this. I wish I could focus more on school and educational concepts.

Hey down 123, I can exactly relate to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

I always fantasize my life was better, I am rich and popular and smart and other crazy stuff like that you know...
I try to concentrate on school (i am a junior in high school btw) and education like you said but it never happens. My mind always wanders off and its actually kinda scary because my fantasy life is so much different from my real life...

Like you said I can never concentrate at all and I look spaced out while I daydream for hours at a time...I am so so so glad I am not alone in this, please pm me if you ever want to talk...I would love to hear from you.

Take care.

I daydream a lot also I get it when i'm trying to read the paper or watching tv for example i'll read the first sentence of a page and take it in but anything after that I don't. My mind wanders off and before I know it i've read the whole page without taking anything in. As for watching tv its as if I go blind for a spell and all I can see is my thought and when I snap back I realise i've missed about 5 or 10 minutes of the programme I was watching!!!

I totally have this problem...All throughout highschool I had anxiety - which led to not being able to get enough sleep at night - which led to me daydreaming - which led to people teasing me for being slow - which increased my anxiety - which led to me not getting enough sleep...And round and round in circles. It's a soul defeating cycle.

I MIGHT BE EVEN WORSE lol
i tend to daydream all the time, its like my whole life is only based on daydreams, this have made me vary unsosial, i can start daydreaming at anytime, i might even be talking to someone but its like my mouth is the only part of me talking at all coz my mind might be somewhere else, i think iv become some kind of proffessional at it now since iv been doing this for as far as i can remember, before i wouldnt even notice that someone where talking to me becouse my mind where in a totaly different place, but now is like i kan both be in my imaginary world and in the real one at the same time..its so wierd, im also always nervous arround people; and i always tend to say something different than what i might be thinking to say, but its not like im nuts or anything becouse i know perfectly well whats reallity and whats not....axcely most of the time i feel like im the only one that knows what reallity is and i tend to think too logical and come up with answers to things that other people might not even come close to figuring out, people think that im not vary smart, becouse i never talk i never reise my hand in class becouse im always too nervous, the truth is that i never do my best at school..axcelly i tend to do as little as possible but still end up getting middle grades, like not suspended but still not exactly an A , and its not just fantasies but also thoughs im always thinking about something like 24-7 every second... i feel like my head is going to explode but i just cant stopp....iv been thinking that i might have some kind of disorder...thoes anyone know any psycological disorder with these symptoms?
still its not like i cant controll the daydreaming part coz i can its just that my life seems to be better when i daydream.

hmm well is it weird...
is it weird if my daydreams are triggered by music?
this is what happends to me:
i usually daydream and walk at the same time, listening to music. and i can do this for hours and hours... i daydream about anything. its like, a second world for me. i can walk in, anytime that i want. weird huh? i used to think im crazy because i can do that. but i guess its all those years i spent indoors as a child. i remember the first time i was able to do this. like.. when i was around 11. i never stopped since. i am 18 now, and going to turn 19.

but yeah, music is what triggers me to day dream. ANY TYPE OF MUSIC, even church music, i just zone out, when it comes on. (at church)
but if im like listening at home, i will just pace back and forth till im done.

but its weird, its like.. i feel uncormfortable if i havent done it in a while (day dream and pace back and forth). so i usually do it everyday.

is that normal?

well anywho, i would love to hear from people that can relate to me. Write me.

A Day Dreamer
I have been daydreaming since the age of 4, I'm 35 now. And there have been times when i don't even realise that i'm doing it.

Here lately i have been waking up in the morning wide awake, As if i never fell asleep. I know i've been sleep because, i wake up refreshed and not tired at all.

I noticed my daydreaming was at its worse during the time when i was on pain killers, sleep aids. I find that when i keep busy it helps not to day dream as much.

Daydreaming can be both a comforting experience, And a horrible one. Daydreaming as a kid, My mother told me when i would watch cartoons with other children, They would laugh at the funny parts in the cartoon but i wouldn't.

And its the samething as an adult for me, I can be watching a movie with my family, Then on the funny parts when everybody laughs i'm sitting their wondering what just happened.

There is absolutely know cure for daydreaming, Other than keeping busy.

I hate this alot .. I am constantly day dreaming..!!!!!!! Especially when I'm alone or in the car driving. All my day dreams are the same .. Just me in this fantasy world where everything is perfect because reality isn't. Baisacally it's my escape. I cry.. I cry because if I was to get interrupted from a day dream moment I turn into this total itch as if I haven't finished my meal or something.. I have to dream and idk why.. And I can control it cuz it's like when I stop dreaming for a moment the next time I pick up right from where Iv'e left off.. I have caught myself day dreaming out loud .. Like talking to myself {{ I'm not crazy or see things }} it's as if I'm acting kind of.... It scares me because when I hit back reality I get so deppressed...... I'm so scared

daydreamwalker I am EXACTLY the same .. I daydream and walk while listening to music. It's the best form of escapism ever, because I do have a 'fantasy life' in my day dreams, where it's like all this film/movie type scenarios happening to me - but it's not me, like a better me...
From reading posts here, it seems to be perfectly normal, and from the sound of things, perfectly normal to freak out and think your crazy. Which I sometimes do. But then if I have LOADS going on and don't daydream, I start to feel a bit crazy and not myself. I think it's just the minds way of dealing with things, but a relaxing one.
Sometimes I daydream about NORMAL things like ME doing something else with life etc but most of the time, and bets daydreams are 'fantasy life/world' type ones. Am 18 now been doing it since about 11 (when first discovered walking with music.. good old fashioned portable CD players Wink )
