Well if you're worried about the validity of home tests you can always make a quick stop at the doctors-

but given that it's your first month I wouldn't worry, it's probably just getting used to it. And you can't tell if you're pregnant (even the second time!) from symptoms because they are so much like symptoms you'll get from pms or birth control.

It may take up to three months for your period to regulate on the ring.

That's ok. Smile But like I said, it could just be due to getting used to the hormones. If you're still worried you can always take multiple tests or stop in with your doc.

just a question, my urine has turned like a neon yellow almost green, has this happened to anyone ???

I have been on the pill for 6 month and i love it i cant use the pill because i cant remember to take it everyday.my doctor told me not to take depo the shot. it can make you infertile. so she gave me nuva ring i love it. i dont know if it works or i just didn't get pregnant yet. it can be a little bit uncomfortable when having sex if it is not in properly i think the best way is to kneel down and insert in. and you wont even feel it and it wont come out. the only problem i have with it is that it takes my sex drive away it gives me a little bit of black heads and i notice i dont gain weight it helps me with my bowel movements also. i notice the change because i been forgeting to take it out at the third week and im also forgot to insert in after the week free is up. so i decided to take a month off. so i notice the differece from when im on it or off it. when i took a month off my face cleared up i started to have bowel movement problems again. i gain back my sex drive i felt like me again. now im back on the ring and i have no bowel movement problems bumps are appearing on my face again but its not acne. my sex drive went down. but i think its the best thing to prevent pregnancy out of all contraceptives because there is no real side effect it has a low doseage. and if you plan to have children you can stop taking the ring and your body goes right back to normal. but since i been forgeting and i took a month off with out using any back up. i suspect that i may be pregnant because my breast are enlarging and im always feeling sleepy and tired. if there is any one out there that was on nuvaring and became pregnant please let me know the risk or how it is what happens what do you do?

You can't. Almost no women have "ovulation pains". Less than 10% I'd say. Even that is debated as to whether it is real or not.

ACooper's extreme pain was most likely NOT ovulation but instead another severe issue that should be looked at by another ob-gyn. Ovulation pain, if it happens, is generally mild. I would in fact guess ovarian cysts.

Horrified

Hello everyone! Well I have been a Nuva Ring user for about 3 years now. I had run out recently (about like two months ago) and I refilled my Rx and started again after one month of no bc. I put it in at the right time and waited more than 7 days before having sex, and I had just found out that I miscarried. I am horrified that this happened. I trusted NuvaRing for so long and I absolutely loved it and I am very disheartened about it because this happened. I realize nothing is 100% other than abstinence, but I guess I was sort of counting on this never happening. I dont know, its a great form of bc because it is user friendly, but I don't think I will ever depend on any bc like I did NuvaRing again,...

Just Looking For Some Advice
Posted: 12-18-07 15:56pm

I just started the Nuvaring and so far it's not bad...I've only been on it for about a week and half tho. However, this is my sort of problem and i wanna make sure i'm ok. I went to the dr on november 28th to get on birth control and he put me on the nuvaring. he said to put it in the sunday after i start my period. I started my period like that day or the 29th. Well...I didn't b/c i was still sort of on my period around the 2nd of december. So i started it the next sunday (december 9). Is this good or bad? I now know that i should've put it in on the 2nd, whether or not i was done with my period but i didnt. Some people are telling me I'm fine, not to worry, and that my cycle will be off a bit and that Ill get my period a week later because I started the ring a week later. Then some people are scaring me and saying that my system is gonna be all screwed up. Just need some reassurance or advice on what to think. Plus i'm going to see someone this weekend and sex most likely will happen...I just want to make sure I'll be protected with the nuvaring b/c last time the condom broke and i had to take the morning after pill and i really dont want to do that again!

I have been on the Nuvaring for almost 6 mos. now and I love it! The first couple of months, I had a lot of nausea and headaches, but that is mostly gone now.

I haven't really gained weight, except maybe a little in my boobs (lol!), and I haven't noticed significant mood changes. (Also, I am prone to anxiety and depression and still haven't had a hard time).

I recently switched to a 28 days in, 7 days out schedule, and I'm currently having a relatively heavy period, though it's only been 21 days. But, it takes time to adjust.

My husband loves it! No sensation problems, but, after 8 years of condoms, this is a HUGE improvement!!

Best of luck!

Nuvaring.

I have two friends one being one of my best friends who got pregnant on the ring. And when she told me that when she and her mom went to the doctor, very upset, the doctor told her the chances of not getting PG. is not 99.% effective more like 60% and 70%. I dont know how true that is but. I do know from personal exsprience having endometrisois i've been on Birth control from the time i was 12 to 19 20. I took everthing from the pill to the patch to the shot and after a while nothing worked. I got pregnant on the pill when i was 16 then misscarried it. I bleed for 80% of my senior year. Cramps that will bucke your knees and make you think your in labor. My doctor explained that once you are on any birthcontrol for so long your body can grow immune to it and it wont work. I quit taking any type of birthcontrol for a year and a half and it has been the only time since i have started my period at 11 my cycle has been normal, cramp less and it last all of 3 days!!! Yeah it's great, but now my b/f wants us to be safe and me possibly go back to birthcontrol so i'm tring yaz. I dont have much faith in any of it but i will give it a shot!!! Hope this helps someone!!!

It's not true at all; that doctor lied. The effectiveness of the ring is above 90%. The ring is actually much more effective than the pill because it is much harder to "mess up" the ring.

Some women just don't respond to hormonal birth control. Some women are just very fertile.

I used to get cramps like that all the time but that's just me.

USE CONDOMS!!! Also, there is a ton of non-hormonal birth controls you can try. There is a spermicidal film, there is the copper coil IUD, there is female condoms, spermicide, the sponge, diaphragms, cervical caps etc. It sounds like hormonal birth control is not the right answer for you, so please look into these other options!! My mother used a cervical cap with great success.
