Hey, I just thought I'd give my 2 sense as well. I am a pretty petite girl and I don't do very well with body changes. I've been on lots of different birth control methods, all of which were aimed at the smaller body type, and I had serious side effects from all of them, and was told I may even not be able to have children, which was really depressing. My husband and I decided that we would try the nuvaring, after sitting with my doctor. I have a lot of Pharmaceutical Reps in my family and a few nurses and doctors too, all of which highly regarded the nuvaring. I haven't had any side effects as of yet. It’s only been a few months, but we're in the clear thus far. My breasts have gotten about 1.5 sizes bigger, which I'm not a huge fan of because I have a small frame so its not something I'm used to. In any event, my husband loves it. I don't have mood swings, cramps, and my period is really regular. In the directions it specifically states that the ring needs to be put back in place at the same time 7 days later. By sticking to the directions, you significantly reduce your chances of becoming pregnant while on the ring. Also, there is an optimal BC for everyone out there. Consult a doctor who is familiar with your body and its needs. Some girls become more fertile while on the ring, which got them pregnant very quickly. I suggest you read through the Nuvaring website, a girl above posted the link I think, but I'm pretty sure that it is nuvaring.com. In any event, always read through the side effects, prescriptions that may interfere with the ring, and the frequently asked questions as well. Asking other people what their opinion is on something doesn't always get you the correct answer. Seek medical assistance if you are wondering if the ring is right for you. As someone who wants to be a doctor I always suggest that if you need medical advise you go to the people who are trained to give it. Everybody’s body is different, and we have to remember that everyone will react differently. Its great to let people know the things that can happen, but we need to analyze our own medical background and body temperaments, as well as medical advise, to know if things are right for us. These are our bodies that we are putting these in to, no ones opinion is worth risking your health. If you do not have insurance to be able to seek medical advise, I suggest that you visit a planned parenthood as they can assist you as well. Sometimes the information that they have isn't as medically oriented, but its better than no medical advise at all. Hope that helps all the worriers out there. Hang in there, and find what works best for you, after all it is YOUR body!
