Ring
I started the ring a month ago. Before that i was on the depo shot, on the shot i gained twenty pounds in two years, my breasts got larger and i lost my sex drive. but in the weeks since i started the ring my sex drive has come back. I do romove it during sex cause i feel discomfort frim it but its never out for longer than an hour. personally i have never had a serious problem with bc. but i love it so far... oh also with the shot i got terrible migraines but have yet to get any from the ring i used to get them atleast once a week.

I've been on the nuvaring for almost a year now.. so far no pregancies and no complications except for while having sex sometimes you may be able to feel it but i guess it depends if its a problem i just take it out and when were done i put it back in you just have to remember!! it can be out for up to 3 hours and still be good. I've been on many different pills and they all made me so nauseus but the nuvaring has such a low hormone i feel fine.. no spotting just when i take it out for the last week to have a period they are so light its like im not having one.. cant complain!! i would reccommend.. Smile

nuva ring and depression, bad side effects
i was given the nuva ring. i loved the fact that i did not have to remember to take a pill because my days constantly changed and i could never remember. i followed all of the instructions. i was told it would help with my depression(after being brutally assaulted). it did anything but help! i bled for over a month. not lightly either, it was very heavy. this made me a mess of a person. i cried constantly and my depression seemed to be getting worse. because i had been bleeding so much and so long i could not get out of bed. i did horrible my first semester of college because of it. i am not sure if this happened to any one else, but it caused me to bleed so much i became dehydrated(i dont drink, smoke, or use drugs) that i had to be dragged to the dr by some friends and given an ivy. i had gone to the dr several times about the bleeding(i have concluded that they had no idea what they were doing). they said i was fine. i went back and told them i couldnt take it. i wanted to kill myself, literally. that sure did get their attention. they gave me pills ontop of the nuva ring to get the bleeding to stop. my experience was just so horrible. i continued on it. i met the man of my dreams(my now fiance). when we started having sex he said he could feel it. i started getting a burning sensation(no we dont have std's). it was not till i stopped using the nuva ring that my life went back to normal(well as normal as it could get). every one's body reacts different. my sister in law loves it! she swears by it! not me though!

Fail
My girlfriend has been on the neuva ring for almost a year and a half.. It had fallen out for 1 day once and she got pregnant because of it. Almost a year later she got pregnant again while on it with no problems. I wouldnt recommend it to anybody.

LOVE IT
I have been using the Nuvaring for about 2 years now and I absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone. My entire group of girlfriends also uses it (after trying many other methods) and love it as well! You really don't have to think about it - I just put a reminder in my phone calender for when I need to take it out and when to put a new one in! It has only come out probably twice during sex (which over a 2 year period is pretty good!) and you can just set in on the side table, finish, and put it back in - not a big deal. Usually the only thing I have trouble with occasionally is getting it to stay in place (it gets fussy and tries to slip out) - when that happens, I usually use a tampon applicator to put it in - it makes it so much easier! When I was new to using it - my gyno said I would get a little "wetter" because there's somethig that's not supposed to be there, but it goes away after a while... and if I had any cramping, that it may be up too far and to tug it down just a *little* bit, but not so much where you can feel it. (It's because the ring is touching your cervix - causing pressure - but the cramping magically goes away when you do that - trust me!) Those are the common problems I have, but it's very rare that they occur!! The Nuvaring really is SOOO easy to use - especially when you're a very busy person! Like I said before - I would recommend it to anyone!!

I think I did this wrong!
I'm very worried.

I put the ring in a day late. My boyfriend and i have had unprotected sex. I didnt bother to look into the effectivness if it goes in a day late.

Im not due for my period till late next week. My period is like clockwork since ive been on the ring. But these last days ive had breast tenderness, and sharp little cramps that come and go. Am I looking into this too much and could it be PMS? Or could it be i'm pregnant?

btw, does anyone allow their partner to actually ejaculate in them while on the ring? Is this a bad idea?

I got preggo on Nuva Ring
I misused it to help with my libido-Seriously didn't think inserting it one day late would make a difference in the grand scheme of things.(except in my sex drive, which it did) I got pregnant. My son is 15 months old.
Use it exactly the way the label says, no matter what.

Oh so Depressed
On it for a month and everything in life is awful nothing to look forward to.I feel empty. Where did I go? My friends have me on suicide watch. I either cry over the littlest thing or explode in anger. Those are the only things i feel, i wish happiness was one of them.

My Dr said i just have to get used to the hormones. Anybody else have this problem? Did you feel better the next month? I practically ruined my friendships and relationship.

Wow
I use NuvaRing and I'm shocked at some of the things you all are saying. 1) He took it out without you knowing...BS.... not possible...LOL 2) Breastmilk....I swear if I get that side effect I'm gonna freak! 3)If you feel it then it's not far enough back...HIM...he can push further back during sex - far enough where its almost hard to find. 4) This pregnancy stuff has me nervous... well a little... over 180lbs...yep... so does that mean I'm screwed. 5) I haven't been having mood swings (I am also on a antidepressant) but today I'm really really irritated (see #1 LOL). Could the ring be the cause of the irratability...well this is the week out so...

My question.... as with BC pills u can skip ur period by switching ur week of pills. Has anyone tried skipping a period while on the ring... and I mean skipping with no spotting. If so post what you did.

Just started the Nuva Ring
Hey everyone,

I just started the ring three days ago. My doctor prescribed me the NuvaRing because I wanted a low dose estrogen BC, and also was sick of taking a pill everyday. She put the NuvaRing in place for me.

I will be seeing my boyfriend tonight and I am scared to have sex. I put my finger in my vagina and I can totally feel the ring. It doesn't seem like it is very far in, and I am afraid my boyfriend will feel it and not like it. However, I have felt good about the right for the past three days. I guess I'll have to see what thats like.

But, I have smelly discharge? Fishy, almost? And I know I do not have a yeast infection or any other vaginal infection because I was just tested this week by my doctor. Is this normal?

Also, has anyone had.. excuse me when I say this... but "rough" sex? Totally afraid of doing anything but extremely slow love-making. Can you share an experience?? I need some confidence for my new sex life on nuva ring!!!!

Nuva Ring
I tried the Nuva Ring about 3 years ago. The second I put it in, I could feel it inside of me. About 1 to 2 weeks later (I don't remember now), I experienced excruciating throbbing pain in my vagina (same place I felt the ring). It did not hurt when I pushed on my abdomen; all the pain was on the inside.
I took it out, but it still took almost 12 hours for the throbbing to stop. It was so bad, I went to the ER to get it checked out. They couldn't find anything, and later, my ob-gyn told me she had no idea why I had such a reaction.
I have an extremely high tolerance for pain, use super plus tampons regularly, and have aggressive sex, so this was a total surprise. Hope this helps.

Nuva Ring
Hi,
I'm 236 lbs and I'm currently using the ring, for me I think it is great. I have been on it since January. I had stop it for a whole year and got back on it on January of 09. Yes, my husband can feel it while we are having intercourse, the only thing with me is that I have a low sex drive. I tried the pill but I had really bad headaches and depression. So far it has been great!

nuva ring
My gynecologist told me that her husband said he could not feel the ring whatsoever.

As for weight gain - my gynecologist told me you don't gain weight on it (unless you eat more). BC does that as well but also will cause you to retain some water. So if you don't want to gain weight (if you can control your appetite), nuva ring is the best choice.

I have heard a lot of people say they got pregnant while on the ring - this could be they forgot to change it. But it's only once a month - how hard is it to remember?
I'm on it because my period is irregular - so if you're on it to prevent pregnancy I would look more into stats.

I haven't personally used the ring but a close friend of mine did. She was told it would be good for up to five years, it wasn't even two years and she ended up pregnant with her SECOND set of twins. The company had never heard of this happening and didn't know what to tell her. While going to the doctors for her pregnancy they couldn't even find the rings and she was told that removal of the rings if found was very risky, but that if she didn't attempt it there was a chance of infection. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

I am 15 I am on the ring.
When me and my friend have sex, he can feel it.
He says it incressed the pleasures sometimes, I can feel it, Its uncomptorable durring sex (My spelling suck sorry [Smile Anyways, I have had un protected sex while on it, I have yet to end up pregnant. So I think your fine with it. My brest have gotten bigger more fuller, loss of apptiet and cramps (Around time of my period) Other than that I am fine with it. You should try it. But everyone gets diffrent sideaffects. So dont go off of everyones experiance try it for three months, and then make your final dessions. [:

Spotting
I started using nuvaring about a week ago, and for the last 5 ish days, I have been spotting. Pretty light for the most part. But I was just wondering if anyone else has had that issue? And if so, how long it lasted for you. If it does not stop in another few days, I will call the doctor and see what she says.
