When someone goes to planned parenthood, do they need to take a blood test to get birth control?

Would they need to take a blood test at a gyno for birth control?

What exactly are the procedures?

I Just Went
They ask you questions like are you having any problems or concerns. You can get a pap smear if needed and they use a cotton swab for and std test you let them know what birth control you want and they ask for a donation towards your service and they send you on your way. Hopefully you don't hear from them like I did that something was up with a pap smear. Good luck

ps a ton of forms to fill out and a long wait

So no blood test? I will even pay for them to give it to me, I just don't like needles... Thank you for your reply...

The first time I went I had to have blood work done but my family has a history of blood clots...So they had to check and make sure my blood was okay...Plus they will probably ask you if you want to have an hiv/aids test and those are done by blood. I don't think it's mandatory. Usually though it is mandatory for them to do a pelvic exam though...Nothing horrible just a little uncomfortable.

But other than that I don't think you have to worry about them taking blood..
