Forgive me while I rant for a few minutes.I am a 33 yr old woman and am trying to live with back pain. I was in a car accident and fractured my disk now I have been told I have bone spurs slightly herniated disks and that they are athritic . I went and saw an otho doctor who told me all this then said basically my spine dosen`t want to be my spine any more and the only option I have it to go to pain management. Well today I am in a really bad mood my back is killing me hurts like bloody hell and I haven`t been able to sleep. I am lucky if I get a few hours a night before the pain wakes me up after tossing and turning for hours trying to get to sleep. When last I saw the doctor he said he would send me to a pain clinic to manage my pain well so far I haven`t heard back from them and am at my wits end . At this point I would happily let some one hit me over the head to knock me out if it would stop me from feeling pain for awhile.I am going to call the doctors office and see if they will take pity on me if not then er here I come because this is just to much. Besides the pain the main thing is though has anyone here gone to a pain clinic and can you tell me what to expect when I do finally get to go? And is there any thing I can do to make them hurry up.

Hi liril, i'm sorry to hear about your situation. I am a long time sufferer of upper back pain. I had a spinal fusion in 1997. I started having pain again a couple years later.

My new primary physician referred me to a pain management clinic 2 years ago. They have totally changed my life for the better. I am lucky to have a great doctor and after some trial and error they have put me on the right treatment and medications.

Good luck with your pain clinic.

Pain Management Clinics.
Been there done that, pain clinic after 3mths left me cold, bloody physcologists. They no it all, but have suffered no injury-pain them selves they just dont understand but try to convince you they know it all. Sorry thats my experience. Try alternitive medicine naturpathy etc relaxation tapes, plenty rest, I just try and manage my pain and stay positive yes its tough going. Good luck. Beware of rip-offs $$$.
