Q: Using Fructose Instead of Sugar

Anyone use fructose for baking/drinks instead of sucrose for it's very low glycemic index? A good idea?

I am not talking about high fructose corn syrup! That is half glucose, half fructose and thus has a high glycemic index.

Don't use it.

The main problem in fructose is not glycemic index but the fact that fructose can't be absorbed in amounts above 25-50 g per sitting (and many people who have fructose malabsorption can't absorb even 5 g of fructose per sitting).

Unabsorbed fructose causes diarrhea and bloating.
