HI, my name is Crystal and I
am fairly new here. It is great that so
many people have come up with ways to cope
with their anxiety. Mine is so intense,
tho, I decided to try medication. My
doctor put me on Cymbalta. I have no major
side effects. I know you read all this
negative stuff about meds, but, if you
live with strong anxiety you know how
horrible it is. I am so tensed up most of
the time I have muscle pain. I couldn't
even relax enough to try anything
effectively. Some of us just need the
help.
Hi Crystal:
I was on Cymbalta also for 9 months. Be
very very careful with this med. Please
wean off slowly when you are ready to
quit. Use at least 4 or 5 months to slowly
diminish your daily dose by 5% increments
each 10-15 days. This AD is a strong mind
altering med.
When did you begin on Cymbalta?
Good luck
I know all about tapering off, I tried
Effexor last year. I didnt have any
problems stopping. My doc works very
closely with me, she is fantastic,I love
her. I have been on Cymbalta for about 3
weeks, I just moved up to 60mg. I feel
better already. Believe me, I NEED a
mind-altering med! I am tired of going
thru every day with a raw, gnawing anxiety
from the minute I wake up. I know meds
don't work for everyone, for others they
are awesome.
Hi again:
Well, if it is working for you that's
good. It is important that you are with a
good Doctor.
Hope the best for you,
Luis

Thanks Luis, it seems to be going well. I
like Cymbalta much better than Effexor. I
have had anxiety forever, and tried to
tough it out, but it was HARD. When I
started to actually have muscle pain and
spasms from being soooo tense I decided to
try meds.
