I'm 30 years old and have had 3 children by c section, almost 3 years ago I had a miscarraige. Since then we havent been using any form of contraception but there are no signs of me getting pregnant..I went to my doctor and because I have gained alot of weight over the past 3 years she just looked at me and said that I wasnt ovulating...Can this be right? ..I have fairly regular periods that are heavy for 2 days and light for one...Any advice wud be much appreciated

I am not a health professional but I think she should do some tests. I am not ovulating and my periods aren't regular. I can sometimes be 2 weeks to two months late. My doctor is going to check my hormones to see what is causing this. But when I do get my periods they are medium to heavy and last 6 days. I would say you have some hormones that are off and maybe the doctor should check this out.
Good luck :d

Hello netts, my heart goes out to you for I am in the same position. I also do not believe that I ovulate. I am overweight and I always have been but when I got married I lost around 50 pounds and within a year, I nearly gained it all back plus I went off birth control. For about 4 years I had very irregular periods, I would got several months without a period and then have one for a month. But last year I decided to lose weight and I started working out again. I have lost about 40 pounds and my periods are regualar every month and sound much like yours. I bleed heavy for about 2 days and then light for 1 and then is over. So I was ready about this problem and I did read that if your periods are too short, like ours could be considered, then you might not ovulate every month. So I bought an ovulation monitor to track my ovulation, well I used it for 3 months and every single month is showed that I did not ovulate. So right now I am in the process of going to the doctor. Even my husband is having his sperm count tested to ensure that he is okay because I have not been on birth control for over 6 years. I know that it is a long haul but atleast you know that you can have children and you have 3 beautiful children. Hope that this helps. I think your doctor should runs some test and possible but you on ovulation medication. That could help. If you want to try a cheaper way, I have heard good things about fertility blend and ovulex. You might want to give them a try. If your doctor doesn't want to help you then try
another doctor.

Hypothyroidism

Sounds like hypothyroidism... You should look up all the gazzillion symptoms online, see if it fits the bill (everything from unusual wt gain(like gaining w/out eating more or changing anything), to heavy periods, intolerance to cold, loseing hair, low limbido, excessive fatigue, ... There are like 30) and it's almost impossible to get preg while hypo. It's the thyroid not producing enough of something that converts food into energy, and it effects almsot your whole body- growth hormones, sex hormones, all hormones... It's pretty horrible to have it out of whack. It can be like you're a different person.

Good luck! Hope that helps, I recommend you at least look into it online

I'm 31 and am overweight and trying to have a baby as well. Aug was the first month we started trying, but I got my period about 5 days earlier than expected. I haven't tried the ov pred kits, but I always have cramping and other pms signs around the mid of my cycle. And the discharge is a little diff. I am using the Dr. Jonas method (i have 2 girls and would like to have a boy), so using that method, I don't need to know my exact ovulation. I am going to get a test now though, just to make sure I am ovulating. My per are normal, every 30 days and last about 4-5 days. I usually spot for 1/2 a day or so, and was told to count that as the day I start my period. I hope you keep us posted, I will keep you posted too. Good luck! :)
