I'm a 35 year old male, 5'8 155lbs, don't smoke or drink, walk 3-4 times a week and lift weights 2-3 times a week and eat relatively healthy. Typical days meals ( breakfast: cherios/skim milk, 3 cups of coffee, lunch: 2 handfuls of unsalted peanuts, bannana, apple, carrots, supper: 1 meat, 2 vegs) now I usually eat out big on friday night and maybe a fastfood lunch on sat. And I have a 0 stress job. Most of my spare time I am outside doing something. My readings are about 140/90 and they have started creeping up since about the age of 30. While i'm not overweight, I have gained about 10lbs over the last 10 years. I used to maintain my weight at about 145 10 years ago when I used to run. At age 30 I weighed about 150 and didn't run and thats when my pressure started creeping up.
While i'm not overweight, I am carrying the extra 10lbs in the stomach on a small frame. Does anyone think my bp could be related to the extra 10 lbs?
I started running 2 weeks ago and went 10 minutes 3 times that week and this week I ran 15 min. On 3 days.
Does anyone know how long it will take to tell if the running will lower my bp? And if an extra 10lbs would make a difference on someone who isn't really overweight?
Any ideas?
Thanks
