I am 28 years old and had to have a hysterectomy on feb 10 of this year.I am now 3 months post op.One week post op I developed a fever and was put back in the hospital. My wbc was 30,000.I was given iv antibiotics for several days and sent home.I conitued to have severe pain on my lower side.I was told after the surgery that I had extensive scar tissue growing from my left ovarie and tube to the uterus but a barrier had been put in to keep it from growing back.
About 3 weeks post op I started having hives all over my body,i have unexplained bruising,i have now had fever for three weeks straight.I am getting weaker and weaker everyday. My body aches like I have the flu.I have had large amounts of blood in my urine since after the surgery.I have seen several different doctors.I was told last week that they thought it might be lupus but when my blood work came back although my sed rate was extremely elevated my ana was negative.Go figure??? I have three small children all under the age of six.My youngest has life threatening health problems and I need to get well to take care of them. Some days it is all I can do to get a shower.I just keep getting sent from one Dr.To another without any avail. If anybody has any ideas on what I should I do now please please let me know. :( :(

Did they recheck your white blood count after the antibiotics??
I know when great life changes take place I always get hives.(some are whelty, some are rashy, itch itch itch) and when it comes to my inside organs being affected by something or a foreign body being introduced I get hives. Like when I had a heart attack everytime I would have the chest pains my body gives me hives, and when they put stent into my major artery in my heart I had hives for over a year. Now, every time I get upset or have chest pains hives all over again.

I remember getting a mri once and I had the hives so bad I had to go to the hospital and cortio-steroids to make my body quit attacking itself. They shut down my immune system, cuz thats what causes them. Your body attacking itself.

Seems too me though, something greater is happening to you, it kinda worries me for you. I know sometimes the dr's mean well, but dont really understand what "you" are going thru. Seems like you are too worn down and other than some form of 'depressional state from the operation', I think something else is going on. Keep after them, I think something is wrong.

As you were writing it's like I stepped right into where you are and felt the way you are feeling, the emotional part I mean, and I just believe something is up.

Just keep at them, until you feel better I mean

much love goes out to you and your children
god bless you

Update to First Post
:( it has been almost two months since I first posted to this site and I am not any better.I have seen many different dr's none of which have come up with anything helpful.I am scheduled to see a new dr the first of august. But I contiue to have hives, bruising, fever for no reason, and recently I have even started with some wheezing.I am asthmatic but had not had trouble in several years. It just seems my body has gone crazy since this surgery. Some days my lower tummy is so sore I can not hardly stand to have pants across it.Please please it anybody has any ideas let me know!!!! Thanks

Has anyone imaged you to see if they left anything in you after surgery (like towels, retractor, etc)? Perhaps your body is rejecting a foreign body...? It is rare but accidents do happen.

Good luck!
