My wife paula has had an ongoing outer ear infection for the better part of 7 weeks. She has almost completed her second round of progressively stronger ear drops/oral medication. Her condition has not improved and in fact has begun to spread to the other ear. Her problem is compounded by the fact that she wears hearing aids full time, although she has not been able to wear one of them since taking ear drops due to the fact that the problem immediately re-occurs. Her symptoms are "weeping" of fluid from the ear, dry and cracked skin on the outer ear, lump inside the ear, and itching and soreness. Does anyone have any recommendations for medication/treatment that may be effective? We are at a loss as the current treatments, while likely effective for the average person, are not helping. Thank you very much in advance for your reply!
