I have known a couple of transsexuals. I was quite happy to be friendly with them. One, however, did like to talk about their operations and complications an awful lot -- not interesting, thanks. The other one was a much older person who'd only had the sex change in their 40s or something.

My own view is that a male who has a "sex change" does not become a female. He becomes a non-male, perhaps with a female persona. There is more to being a woman than not having a penis or testicles or facial hair, and having breasts. But, hey, whatever. I'd be as happy being their friend as any other person, providing we got along and had anything in common. Why not?

Hi, I think that everyone has a right be what they want to be. That's one of the great things about living in america. I agree with the first person that there's more to being a female than body parts, however, if there's more to being female than just body parts then removing the body parts of a male would not make you non-male. I also believe that sometimes there's a glitch when people are made and you may be a female with male parts or a male with female parts. I personally don't judge people by sexual orientation, race, religon or anything else along those lines, I choose who I surround myself by what's in a persons heart and anyone i've known (who's worth knowing) is the same, so in answer to your question, yes, I would be friends with someone who had a change, as long as they were themselves and had a good heart, that's what counts :)
