Anyone Have Urinary Retention?
Avatar
Hi all. I constantly feel like I am not able to completely empty my bladder. This is especially frustrating at night. I thought it was due to be constipated, which I get a lot because of hemorrhoids, but im not sure if thats the only reason I get it. Does anyone know what can be done to help empty the bladder completely? I appreciate all your help.

I see this was posted a while ago but I just wanted to ask if you found anything to treat this? I have an odd problem where I will get spasms out of nowhere in the muscles used to "hold in" pee. After this happens I have urine retention and sometimes can't even feel that I have to go to the bathroom.

Husband Can't Empty Bladder Either
Hi, my husband has had this problem for over 15years. It can be a very serious problem if not managed..He has been taking 5-10mg of hytrin for
the past 15years with minimal relief...What we've discovered over the
years is the following....Yes constipation and hemorroids can effect the
bladder......(he has frequent problems with both) and what we've just
discovered this past year is......From not emptying the bladder - the
bladder ( a stretchy muscular organ, which can stretch greatly in size) can
also blow out pouches called diverticuli.. Caused from years of not
empyting out completely...My husband has 2 diverticuli found with ct scan
one the size of a grapefruit that according to his urologist has been forming for years...The treatment is surgery,, to remove them and fix the problem which will be cutting the bladder spinter.. His surgery is scheduled for the 13th of feb....So please see a urologist and get treated..
Good luck.....

Suggest Bladder Scan
I also have had problems emptying. It was discovered an enlarged prostate was the main reason. Go to an urologist and have an ultrasound bladder scan done. It is easy and painless.
