Q: Can't Clear My Head Enough to Sleep

Some nights it takes me forever to fall asleep, simply because I can't clear my head of whatever random thoughts are going through it. I will lie there thinking incessantly about all sorts of useless things that are totally irrelavant at that moment, knowing full well that it's keeping me awake but not knowing how to stop it.

Has anybody else dealt with this problem? Does anybody have any suggestions on solving it?

Same Thing Here
Yeah hey, I am a united states marine and I have the same thing .. I just lay there thinking of random things that wont let me go to sleep .. My doc pretty much said it was insomnia and that I should deal with it because im sapose to be a tough marine right.. Well not right. Sleep is what we need to function so this is what I would suggest to you. If you do drink alcoholic beverages maybe try that . Or what I do I drink a few before bed or a night cap. And then I take tylenol pm before I go to bed about an hour and I hit the hay.. Besides the sleep apnea I have and post limb movembet disorder .Hopefully this helps and im sorry if I didnt

I have had this problem in the past too. I don't know whether you are interested in alternative medicine but a good remedy for this type of insomnia is passion flower/passiflora. It is a hypnotic herb and will gently lull you into sleep, rather than knock you out like some sleeping pills tend to do.

Go visit a herbalist or look in a natural health store to get hold of a tincture of passion flower.
