I heard from someone that lithium made him feel out of it. He said that depoke (is that the right name?) made him feel better. How many other people feel the same way. I'm on lithium right now and I don't want to be on it if it makes me feel out of it. The problem is that I can't tell if the lithium is making me out of it because I felt out of it before I took the lithium. I want to hear from all you people who have taken more than one anti-psychotic drug. What did they do to you, which one do you prefer and why, and how expensive are they? The same goes for anti-depressants. What did they do to you, which ones do you prefer, and how expensive are they?

Lithium And Being Out of It
I had tried every ssri there is, really..... And to add I gained 50 pounds in the process. After wanting to literally jump off a mountain, my doctor put me on lithium. I thought it was a "god send ". I was a little sluggish for about three weeks and thought it was going to be like all the other meds, but around week four things begin to happen. I felt like I did when I was approximately 16 years old! I had a desire to live. I had energy, I even left my home and begin interacting with people. Thats really the person that I am. Depression and/or mental illness is so dibilitating. But anyway it worked for about six months, now I am falling again. Meaning, I have no desire, nor the energy to get out of bed, my hygeine is slipping and I hate to hear the phone ring and to interact with people. I have called doctor. Praying that what was once working will work again. Oh! By the way some people gain wait on lithium....I lost 43 pounds.

Lithium
As of right now I am taking wellbutrin, risperdal, and zoloft. They just recently put me on zoloft about 2 1/2 months ago. At first, the medication change made me very tired in the morning and almost not functionable at school until about 10:00. But that only lasted about 3 weeks. I am fine now and I feel okay. Some days I just want to die and I want to go off on people for no reason at all. Other days I am extremely sociable and just want to keep talking and talking. I feel good about everything and everything in my life is good some days and then others I hate my life and everything makes me angry. So I don't know...Most of the time my medicine keeps me stable. I am right in between. Not extremely happy or sad, just right. So, I think the first few weeks on a new medicine may make you seem different and you'll notice it, but after that things should even out.
