I am without insurance and am relucant to go to the doctor. I could use some advice with my symptoms. For the past year, I have been suffering from severe pain between my shoulder blades - mostly on the left side. I have numbness and tingling in my left hand and foot that has been getting worse lately - there is also coldness. My left hand feels weak all the time. I have recently noticed heart palpatations shortly after eating and when I lay down - my ears seem to ring after eating and mostely in the evening. I started taking my blood pressure, which is on the low side and I also started monitoring my blood sugars - which are running between 80-96. I really think my pain is muscular, but I can't help but worry about stroke, etc. Does anyone have any symptoms like this or advice for me? I am 38 years old and going through menopause due to a historectomy 10 years ago. I do take hrt. :(

Back Pain
Actually sounds like you are suffering from gerd (acid reflux). Not all of your symptoms match, but quite a few do. Gerd can cause the palpitations, especially after eating and lying down. It can also cause quite a bit of back pain.
Try cutting down on smoking, alcohol, caffeine, tomato based foods, chocolate, and citrus anything. I know it sounds difficult, why don't I add a vow of celibacy to all that too? But, all those worked for me(except for the celibacy thing of course).

i know it can be expensive to bite the bullet and go to the doctor but there is no good advice anyone can safely give to you other then to reccomend to go see a real doctor! You could be sick and easily treated now but if you wait it could become worse and even more expensive.

Good luck and keep us informed as to how you fare out there!

Strange Symptoms
I agree with the heartburn theory.........I am trying to cut down on food that gives me acid reflux - I was diagnosed with a small hiatal hernia a few years ago - maybe that is what the problem is - thanks to everyone who responded. I finally became insured............It took long enough - trying to get insurance on your own and not through an employer.....But finally I got it - plan to see the doctor if these symptoms don't improve......Has anyone heard of drinking aloe vera juice for stomach problems - does it work?

There is a group of health food nuts that believe that natural stuff will "heal" the body. You can try it but I would not touch it until the doctor has had a chance to look at you and come up with a treatment plan. Tell him/her that you want to try aloe juice and see if it will harm any med you are on.

They may prescribe axid or nexium to stop the reflux and then do surgery for the hernia and get you all fixed up. I dont buy into any of those buy these "all natural" crap ingredients we have packaged and sold to people to sell to other people with the promise of making big bucks and no payouts for the people buying the stuff. I hate the ponzi scam industry!!
