I Had My U/s Today And Need Advise Asap... Posted: 04-28-05 19:33pm


Ok I had my u/s today and the measurments where at 19 weeks and 4 days... I had my last period on dec. 19th and I believe I concieved on dec. 31.. I've also been told that they add 2 weeks on to pegnancy so would that mean i'm really 17 weeks and 4days (around) i'm really nervious, do you think I got pregnant before my period, or are the dates right, i'm sooo confused I think everythings starting to make since then someone says something that gets me all stresed again... Any advise will help...

Well is your not sure ask the doctor im pregnat with twins so im bigger then I should be so I couldnt tell you but theres a web site you can go on to make sure its http://www.Americanpregnancy.Or g it helped me calculate my due date and everything

Thats a good thing! If you are only 17 weeks and the u/s says that you are 19 weeks then the baby is either more developed than it should be or you are just a little farther along. I wouldnt worrie about it.

so you don't think I got pregnant before my period.. Alot of people tell me no but I just don't want to be blind to the situation. I feel in my heart that my fiance is the father, I just don't want to fool myself... All my mom's kids where big and my fiance was big so i'm hoping my babies just big.. When count the days back though from this ultra sound and the last one they are diffrent... My period was dec. 19 and I belive I concieved on the 31 of dec. My other us on feb. 15 said I was 7weeks 6 days.. So when you count back everything what do you see and think?? Should I worry or just shut up about this while thing.... Thank you

I'm really not sure hun. You should talk to your doctor at your next app't and have him explain all the dates for you.

yeah five days would'nt worry me but 2 weeks!!! Thats why I want to know if they add the 2 weeks in there.. So when you count back w/ the date the the us gave you does it land before your period or after.. B/c mine landed before my period...

yeah I wish I could.. My Dr. Just confuses me and doesn't really care what I have to say.. I'm going to switch Dr.... But thanks ne ways. and when you ladies had your u/s did the measurements add up to your last period or the date you concieved...(if you know when)

Your u/s its the right time, every woman ovulates in different days and you doctor adds up always about 2 weeks, dont worry about it...I dont get frustated or confused by that, my last period was on dec. 17 and by measurement iam now 18 weeks, by the doctor iam about 20-21 please let me know if u found out your babys sex, iam dying to know mines!!!!!

so when did you have your measurements?? So at your u/s your baby measured 18 weeks or 20-21 weeks.. See my last period was dec. 19 and my measurements were at 19 weeks 4days or 5. So that lands about 4 days before my period... But if there is that 2 weeks added in there then it lands just about right were I believe I concieved ( the 31 of dec) but if not then it's almost 2 and half weeks off. But it matches up to the date of my last period so the Dr. Didn't change my due date.. But iwas thinking if I concieved on or arund the 31 then the baby should have measured around 17 weeks...Right

oh isee it's way confusing for me I just wanted to know does this mean I get preggo before my period since my measurements landed a couple days before my period... Or to find I when I got preggo (concived) I count ahead to weeks like if it landed on dec. 12 then I say I concieved around dec. 25 or something like that.. Right

Im not sure but u might of thought u had u'r period cause I knoe they say that some women think they are having there period and it really is implanting bleeding so maybe u did get prego before ur period if im not answering ur question right please let me know.

it was a normal period though so I don't think it was that... Wouldn't my Dr. Know if it was.. Thank you for tryig to help with my confusion.Are you pregos

You are welcome!!!!!!!! Yes your doc should know. But if it was a regular period then u prob got prego right after your period....No im not prego yet. My husband and I are trying we have a 8 year old little girl and we think it's about time for another one lol. So im gonna take a test today but I think it will be negative cause I think it is still to soon to tell if I did conceive it has only been a 2 weeks and what makes me think im prego is that I was due for my period on the 27 I got it on the 30 and it only lasted a day or 2 when it usually last more like 3-4 days and on the 5th day it will be spotting and this time I bled regular the 1st day and then it got lighter..

When the dr figures your due date it is based on the date of your last menstrual period (lmp). This is the last time you knew for sure that you were not pregnant. Conception could have actually occurred at any time after that, ovulation times can vary from woman to woman. They then add 40 weeks to the first day of your lmp and that is your due date. This is why babies are "full term" at 38 weeks-but due in 40 weeks. Even babies conceived using in vitro use this same formula (even though the exact date of conception is well know). It is just easier to have a universal rule for calculating due dates for everyone. Us should be pretty close to the date you got from your dr at your first visit. If it is way off there may have been a period while pregnant or a missed period while not pregnant. In any case don;t worry 2 weeks either way is fine. Good luck.
