Candida
Has anyone thought it may be Candida? I have heard such things as Apple Cider Vinegar, Garlic, Candida stop. If it is a yeast infection it will cause these problems.

stomach noises
I would like to share my experience with you guys. i used to drink a lot of coffee with milk every day and sodas, for about a year i started noticing that weird stomach noises, which last very long are very imbarassing and loud. i didnt know what to do i was constantly bloated and my nails were peeling. i stated noticing that after every cup of coffee my stomach got worse and i was very nauseous and constantly feeling the need to spit and clear my throat. I finally went to a Gastroenterologist for a check up. then i immediatly went to endoscopy. He told me that i have inflammation of the upper stomach and acid reflux and gave me an anti acid strong medication to take for months. I also forgot to mention that my food wasnt digesting well, my stool changed from normal. dont underestimate the sounds and dont drink alcohol and coffee. after i stoped coffee my symptoms are less and my roaring is less. I hope this information helps some of uWink after so much researching and a doctors advice go to a specialist get a referral and also to mention i didnt have pain just severe discomfort..best of luck to everyone...

Stomach sound or Gas movement?
My question is... does it stomach which produces sound or is it the gas which wants to get out at the bottom but when it doesnot get the space... there is a backfire which produces sound?
Or in simple words does this roaring occur at the lower abdominal part or at the upper abdominal part (stomach)?
I am asking because i m facing the situation that whenever i m working and i find something hard to understand then immediately gas appears in my belly and it tries to get outta my belly and when it doesnot get the space..i make a backfire inside my belly which produces sound.... Does everyone have same situation or different? Normally I dont hear any noise inside my belly...

Kindly share who has the same problem as i have found a few tricks...

Embarrising stomach noises
I've read everyones comments on this page and I'm actually crying! The same things happen to me to, when I get nervous at school my stomach starts growling and making weird noises, I have to like suddenly freeze them in mid noises by clenching up my body and making it go ridgid. it is horrible. I hate it and in three weeks I'm having a week of tests.
A tip that may help people -
* Have something reli filling for breakfast like weetabix or a sandwhich or watever will fill you up!
* Then for break have a banana which is filling ( and I also have two packets of special K which are nice)
* and if thats not enough ( which its not for me) then carry a few packets of polos, mints or something like that in your pocket. When your stomach starts rumbling just pop one in your mouth without your teacher seeing you and hopefully that should settle your stomach for as long as the polo will last. Don't chew it just suck it secretly.
* If your in an exam condition and you feel that every teacher in the room is staring at you so you can't have a polo, just take a big bottle of water along with you and sip that regulaly even when your stomach is not rumbling.
* Most importantly - BREATHE, PULL YOUR SHOULDERS UP,BACK THEN DOWN, TELL YOUR SELF THIS WILL NOT LAST FOREVER AND YOU C.A.N GET THROUGH IT!

The sad thing is that I am overweight and I am trying to loose weight but I can't because of this problem... I can't stand it

Try 100% oil of oregano. Put 1 drop in a capsule then work your way up. IT WORKED FOR ME!

Enough about what we've been through already!! List what helps!!
Hi All,

I have had IBS (was relieved to know it even had a name!) for around 13 years- I am 27 now. To be honest, I class this the same as a disability! I don't know how I managed to GRADUATE from uni, when every lesson was like HELL ON EARTH. It's worse when you're a woman, well put together in a nice formal outfit in a meeting, then you have to run to the toilet to take a sh*t once the monster starts growling in your stomach! I couldn't even imagine not being with the same man for over 5 yrs, how on earth would I go to a new guy's place then tell him I have to sh*t in his toilet for 20 minutes before I got to work!? I could go on, however here's how I am best trying to cope living with this monster;

THE NIGHT BEFORE
1. Don't eat heavy or spicy foods; Pasta, fried foods, curries! Have light salads with grilled meat, small portions of veg, fruit can be acidic so don't eat too much.
2. Drink/take friendly bacteria substances, I drink Yakult
3. Drink peppermint tea, 2 bags!
4. Take an anti-spasmodic (I take Merbentyl)

THE MORNING BEFORE
1. Eat oats, a fruit like peach slices and a cup of peppermint tea. Avoid bread, wheat, MILK IS THE ENEMY!
2. Use the toilet for around 20 min, ensure you have around 3-4 bowel movements!
3. Take a peppermint oil capsule (I take Colpermin), another anti-spasmodic, garlic capsule, 40 drops of Yarrow complex

SHOWTIME
1. Have water on your desk/in meeting or a cup of peppermint tea
2. Sit next to a window/open a window
3. CONCENTRATE ON THE TASK AT HAND! The more you worry, the worse it gets
4. Eat a salad/soup for lunch. Avoid wheat, coffee, beans.
5. Take an anti-spasmodic if needs be
6. Just use the toilet if you have to, as de-humanising as it feels!

Hopefully this helps a bit. The above is for during the week, weekends I take revenge by eating whatever the hell I want! I am going to try a natural anti-anxiety tincture next, and also this 100% oeragno oil thingy. Not sure about that peroxide thing- buy hey I am desperate!

I have been having the same issues, but I really have not been worrying about the stomach noises that much. What would freak me out was the belching, it would come out unexpectedly and loud and embarrass me immensely, way before or way after I have had a meal. I would be in a meeting and then this loud belching sound....yikes!!!

The stomach noises happen during the night when I am lying in bed and it feels as if there was something jumping about in my stomach and making weird noises.
I started eating the activia yogurt twice a day and getting myself into some kind of daily exercise regime and it has helped tremendously.

I try to eat something as soon as I start to feel hungry and stick to a schedule for eating. I know that people are busy and they don't eat like they should but try to stick to the same times every day and eat yogurt with those digestive cultures.

I can only tell you what works for me. This may also be taboo, but are you going to the bathroom regularly? I am up now to twice a day, after lunch and either in the morning after getting up or just before bed. Try to get your body to get rid of the waste much more faster than you put it in.

Otherwise I wish you luck, and of course and end to the embarrassment.

I have also suffered from IBS for many years. I have to agree with FartyMcArt about yoga. I also started 2 months ago and have never been so regular as I am now. Watch out for the greasy, fatty, acidic, spicy, foods and stay away from caffeine. Like milk, it is the enemy. If I want a bowl of cereal I use milk that is low fat Lactose Free and it doesn't seem to bother my stomach, but never regular milk. My biggist issue is the bloating stomach. I have heard that peppermint is good for relieving the bloating stomach so I'm going to try it.

I have a question for JustlivingMan, Is the peppermint you take in drops or pills?? Does the peppermint tea work as well or better than the drops/pills??

I have the same problem! And it seems like no one has answers. My stomach ALWAYS makes noises when I lie down, which makes it awkward when I'm sleeping over at a friend's place and I have to try to avoid it as much as I can. I am also hungry quite often, but when I do eat I can't eat a lot before getting full. This means I have to eat every few hours to avoid the stomach noises but that's hard to do when I'm out, or at a friend's house, and especially in classes when I have a lunch that's scheduled late in the day. I think it might have something to do with nervousness, because although I don't usually feel nervous it comes through in these symptoms, accompagnied by sweating more than usual. And this usually only happens when I'm out with friends or something like that, not so much when I'm not under pressure such as when I'm with my family. This is taking over my life and I haven't gone to see a doctor about it but I think I might soon, because I have to avoid all quiet places! Movies, even going to friend's houses where its quiet sometimes can be brutal to do when I'm hungry or my stomach is making noises for no reason. Maybe it is a digestive issue? I think we would all love it if anyone could give us some answers, because this is a really unfortunate issue to have to deal with.

Thanks everyone for speaking out...I have been mortified with these embarrassing noises. Isn't it so horrible when you're in an interview, cinema, or just any QUIET place and grrrrrr....sounds like your're about to blow. I hate it so much, it's changed my life for the worse. I felt like such a weirdo, like I was making such a big deal out of nothing but it is a BIG freaking deal when you stay home or away from quiet events due to stomach noises. Please if anyone finds some relief...please share. Thanks so much...forever frustrated.

Don't Stop Living
This is interesting...I am 50. If my tummy gets long termed stressed (meaning I dip into loose bowels for a month or 2) my stomach starts this talking. First, you act like you don't notice...that works for everyone far away...then for the close ones- I just hold my hand s up like who knows why and smile like i don't care...It is great to be grown up and really not care.. I was at a dinner party with only about 8 of us and it did it...I still ignored and they did too. But really I think everyone should try some stuff.... Like if it is gas...I know if I lie on my stomack pulling my toes over the bottom edge of the bed and stretch my body, it clears pretty quick....you can try this prior to going out. or take a tums several times a day- hey, it's good calcium. But don't stop your life...I had IBS in my 20s. I picked something up in St Johns for a wedding in my early 40s and everything went right through me. BUT you have one life...do whatever to get out there and LIVE LIFE!!

:(:(
Omg guys, I seriously look around at people having laughs in university events etcetc...i jus look at everyone and have thought I was the only one who had this problem. It really is dibilitating (If that's a word), I used to have boyfriends, so I know this problem hasn't always been as bad as it is now!! I can't even be around my friends when my stomach kicks off and goes psycho. No one I know has this problem, i'v spoken to a few people about it and they just seem confused.

I don't know if this is the case with anyone else, but my mother has the same problem, as well as my twin sister.

My life is totally being run by my stomach and its aking me depressed....this making my situation worse- a vicious circle. It's so strange because sometimes my stomach will be fine (this is once in a blue moon) then it will be awful....I am in uni an i have had to leave exams early due to my stomach noises, people don't realise how embarassing it is. It's getting so bad that I would actually miss my exams rather than go to them and feel like i wanted to kill myself in the exam. I don't know what to do. There seems to be no pattern...no food groups making it worse. i drink alcohol a fair bit, and sometimes it helps to loosen my bowels and let everything out if you get me, which makes me feel better, and the following day I could be ok. I generally avoid eating at all nowadays, everytime I get hungry and know I have to eat I Panic. Its horrible. I know my health wil deteriorate if I'm not eating properly...i haven't been eating well for the past 2 years because of this problem. Please does someone have the soultion to this awful problem???!!!!!!

I'm not sure whether my problem is the same as everyone else's...I'm 15 and about a year ago I started making these weird noises, like backed-up gas that couldn't get out. Like a sort of creaking noise in my behind. It only happens in the morning, for my first couple of classes at school. Then it goes away and I'm fine. I can stop the noises happening if I go to the bathroom before class, but I'm sick of having to run to the bathroom every day and my friends think it's weird that I do that. I get really anxious that the noises are going to happen and I know I probably make it happen myself because I'm so scared of it - it's more psychological than anything. Can anyone help? Please!!
