Help Scared of Miscarriage
Posted: 04-28-05 12:00pm

Hello, I have three children and I had a miscarriage at 17 days pregnant back in feb. I am now pregnant and very happy to be . My husband and I are worried that this might happen agian. He is worried and I am terrified, I overthink all the little twinges and pains and I have pain in my sides in my lower abdomen and I am sure that they are simply just muscles streching but I still worry. Can someone who has had a miscarriage shed any light on this of wether I should be concerned or anyone with any knowledge on miscarriages. I have three healthy children and have only had the one miscarriage and am now 5 weeks and one day. Please help on the advise. Thanks so much.

I was very younge when I had my miscarrige but the one thing that I know is that everything was fine until a day before I started to bleed. I woke up in pain and not just little twinges, horrible blinding pain. I stayed in bed all day and then the next day I started to bleed profusley. This time I had all the normal aches and normal pains just as you describe and I am now 32 weeks. I didnt even think that I was pregnant because I was having cramps like I was going to start my period, but I never did. I am sure you are fine, try to limit your lifting and dont exert yourself. If you have little ones that walk but still want mommy to hold then, ask them to hop onto the bed and then pick them up from there. I wish you lots of luck and keep us informed.

I don't think there is anything you can do to prevent it from happening. It is just one of those bad luck things. Unfortunetly, I have had two. The doc just says that you need to take the vitamins and try to stay healthy.

Good luck with your pregnancy!!

It is normal to think this way when you are pregnant and especially after just barely having a miscarriage, try to be more positive and try to put your feet up as much as possible which I am sure is not easy with three little ones running around.
Good luck to you and yours!
Sincerely,
sandy

Try not to worry about it too much. Just try to relax. Maybe once a week you and your husband could go out to a movie or dinner or something just to get you out of the house. Just remember if it was meant to be then it will happen.
