A threatened miscarriage is when you bleed heavy but your cirvix is closed tightly and the baby is still inside! Apparently its very common, you have all the symptons of a miscarriage but your placenta is still attatched to your womb???? I think thats what it is they didnt really tell me much about it but they said that im maybe going through this and it was quite possible that I may still be pregnant????

Sorry I couldnt tell you more dont really no much myself.

Hi, after two miscarriages I went on to have a beautiful baby boy on the 23rd september this year. The first three months were not plain sailing though. I started to bleed at 5 weeks and thought that I was about to lose another baby. They scanned me internally and could not see anything. They checked my hcg levels on a regular basis and told me that they were not rising as they should and that I was probably having a slow miscarriage. I was heart-broken but kept hoping and praying that everything would be ok. I was booked in for another scan at 7 weeks and after all the problems with the pregnancy cried buckets when they told me that they could see the baby! It had a healthy heart beat and was fine. I was so shocked as I had prepared mysef for the worst having been through two previous miscarriages. I am so lucky. This is just a message to say although things may look pretty bad when you start to bleed in early pregnancy, dont give up hope. Wishing you all the best of luck

I have had 2 m/c's since december 04, I started bleeding with my first on and they told me that it was a threatened miscarriage, my cervix was still closed, but I lost it anyway, I am not trying to scare you I have a friend that was also labled a threatened miscarriage and she carried her baby to full term, althought there were some complications along the way he was born healthy. Hope that helps some

Yea, I had a little pain didnt think nuffin of it then it went to light bleeding.

Then I had more pains. Then several hours after that I had major pain so unbearable and then I had more bleeding cant rememebr if it was straight after the unbearable pains. Had 2scans, internal and tummy scan and showed no baby just blood and fluid. Thats what hte lady said. I was wondering if mine was gonna be like sara. Do u think I should ask to see if they find a heartbeat just to make sure. I have another scan on 28th of dec to check if all blood and fluid comes out. Ive seen some white stuff come out which could be fluid or discharge.
