Q: Brown Discharge Post Period

I have been on birth control for 9 years now. My periods have all been relatively normal, I did have to have colposcopy about 4 years ago and it was normal. My most recent period has lasted about 7 days and the past 3 days I have had thin brown discharge with a strong odor. It does not itch but I m concerned there is something wrong? Do I wait for it to clear or is there something I can get to help?
