Since nov I have been diagnosed with 2 sinus infections, bronchitus, and pneumonia twice. When I finally threw a fit at the doctors, they ran a series of blood tests to try to determine why I kept getting infections. Everything came back fairly normal except for my white blood count (wbc) was still high and my tsh is 7.03 and free t4 is .73.

I was told that I was hypothyroid and prescribed 25mcg of synthroid. After researching on the net I found that I have almost all of the symptoms of hypothyroidism. I now wonder if I really needed my hysterectomy due to excessive menses.

Here is my question: would my levels cause me to get repeated infections? Doc says no (he said it would take a tsh level of about 50 to cause infections and that I only have slightly elevated tsh) and has no idea why I stay sick and doesnt seem to care, just prescribes another antibiotic.

Any help you can give me would be great! I cant seem to find any info on how high is a high tsh level.

Also, I was did not have the tgab or tpoab....Do I need to force that issue?
