Only 20 And Doctor Says I Need a Hysterectomy Posted: 04-14-05 15:12pm
I am a 20 year old with 2 boys, 1 and 2.
Two days ago I went in for a laparscope
and found that I have varicose veins on my
uterus and also some scar tissue that was
connecting my right overy to my uterus.
The doctor told me I would need to have a
hysterectomy soon. I am in some pain,
mostly cramping everyday, which is caused
by the veins. This pain will not go away
untill I have my uterus taken out, the
only solution, birth control pill, which
will help alittle with the pain but does
not make the veins go away.I would also
like to have another child. {a girl}.
Is this safe to have children with
varicose veins on you uterus? I am
just sad because I am only 20 and would
really like to keep my uterus, but with
all of this pain, I don't know what to do?
So if anyone has ever went through this
or has any answers. Thanks

Get a second opinion!
Never commit to a hysterectomy until you
have exhausted all alternatives.
It is major surgury and there is no going
back once it has been done.
Please think carefully
Is your doctor alfredo nieves in
chattanooga, tn? That is exactly what I
was told at 21. I had the hysterectomy.
At 27, another gyn took my ovaries.
Luckily, I had two healthy beautiful
children. The veins are not dangerous,
just painful. I had been diagnosed with
the veins and scar tissue and had a baby
anyway. Pregnancy was fine and she was
perfect. Seek a second opinion, please.
I regret it. I remarried a man who has
no children of his own. I would love
nothing more than to have the chance to
have a child with him. Not only that,
doctors don't tell you that the uterus
produces hormones that women need. Just
promise you will consult another doctor
before signing any consent.

Honey I recommend you edit your post to
remove the surgeons name. Whether the
statement is true or not could leave you
open to libel. ;)
